Free Disney Princess Movie (Worth $20 - Google Play) with Google Play Gift Card Purchase (min $20) @ Woolworths

200

In this weeks catalogue and managed to make it to a store today to test out.

Buy any Google Play gift card ($20, $30, or $50) this week at Woolworths and get a free Disney Princess movie on Google Play. Catalogue runs until 14/11/17, however on redeeming page states that purchases up until 5/12/17 are included. Must redeem free movie by 4/1/18.

Obviously makes the most sense to buy multiple $20 gift cards, as you get a movie free for each one. Have bought 2 cards and tested this (will go out and buy more today to get the rest of the free movies, already owned half of them). Although I did enter one code, pick my free movie, then redeem the next code. I do think if you redeemed 2 gift cards you would just end up with 2 rewards, but didn't want to test it.

No extra code or entry for the free movie, just the standard gift card which picks up it was activated at Woolworths and adds to the Account -> Rewards section on Google Play.

In store only.

Valid for both the SD and HD copy (so don't pick the SD one)

Also if anyone can help with the markdown table to get the URLs clickable, centre the headers and space it out please let me know how :)

  • Link says OzBargain is broken at the moment, and the backend will be restarted

Good work Op, you broke OzB!
So how does google know you only just purchased it?

Which part do you mean only just purchased? The gift card? I assume when its activated at the store it links some data to the code, including where it was purchased and what date.

      • Oh do you need to activate them? I always buy them @ self service. Yeah maybe it does send google a msg that it was purchased & unblock it & not just stolen.

        • The checkout activates them automatically. Self service is the same thing in this regard.

  • Did you buy both gift cards in the same transaction? (just wondering if you have to buy them separately or not)

    • I did buy mine in 2 separate transactions as i wasn't sure if the docket printed an extra code for the free movie or how it was redeemed. Now that its via the adding of the code into Google play, next time i'll buy 2 in 1 transaction to test. After that I'll buy another 4 or so to get all the movies i don't have.

Google Play is where we are buying all our kids movies anyway (gotta keep telling all the relatives we don't want dvds or blu-rays), so the free one plus using the credit later when they are on sale is way better than the max 20% off gift cards we normally find.

      • How many times would they watch each movie several times given that you will have a collection to choose from?
Wouldn't it just be cheaper to rent when needed and purchase the one they actually like / want to watch until a) their next fad favourite b) they grow up?

        • We would have watched Aladdin as a kid at least 25 times on VHS. If the rentals were 99cents sure. And also that they couldn't just use all my credit. The other thing I will see in the long run is how the Disney streaming service goes.

This a no-brainer for me - Google Play gift cards are rarely on sale, but I have a YouTube Red subscription, so often pay full price YouTube Red subscription fees anyways… this way I'm still paying full price, but I get some digital versions of some Disney movies along the way!

I tried two in one transaction today, no problem at all.

        • Thanks, I bought two in one transaction yesterday but haven't activated to check.

Will go and get my last two so I have all the movies. And $140 of Google play credit. Wish I could use it as the family payment method.

Good deal for me, i got young kids.

  • Is this for a movie to keep? I know in the past they have given away free rentals.

    • Yep free to keep

Just a heads up, and slightly disappointing, these titles don't seem to come with subtitles.
