Credit to alz for the original TGG@eBay offer: Original 20% off @ The Good Guys eBay Post

Price hipster suggests the Tefal Cook4Me usually sells for around $300, and has not previously been below $250 (approx). Reviews seem pretty good - I hope they're accurate! - I've just bought one.

Edit: Shipping costs are prohibitive (around $50 where I live); the deal is based on the ability to click & collect.

The browning function works pretty well and it has a fantastic nonstick pot. The newer version has more recipes and goes for about $400. Too bad they didn't release the one with down-loadable recipes in australia. The other negative is the fact that something so expensive only gets a 1 year warranty.

Positives are that it pressure cooks at a few button presses, auto detects most problems and has a quite a few recipes.

Takes a few minutes to preheat the burning and pressure cooking functions.

Cleaning is pretty easy, just remember to rinse the metal lid after cooking because the pressure waste water doesn't evaporate completely (theres also a little waste water pouch at the back to empty out after each cook.

Recipe book is at bottom of the link if you want to look early

      Thanks for providing the info.
Would you know how this would compare with the Breville Fast Slow Pro? I've been wanting to get one but saw this deal..

      • Id say look at YouTube videos for comparison. From my looking at it the fast slow pro seems to be medium lvl difficulty, but is also a slow cooker too. The cook4me is like simple/easy with less options

Example. The cook4me has one knob to navigate and easy to see instructions (plus it's in colour).
The fast slow pro has many knobs but seems to have many options to cook (sear, reduce, slow cook, fast cook etc)

So after looking at the YouTube videos of people actually using the interface you will understand what I mean.

Tldr cook4me is simple/easy, fast slow pro is medium/more options/little more harder.

      • You can get the Breville fast slow pro for 223 c&c,

  • Thanks wanted a pressure cooker, I'm sold haha.

  • Damn! I paid $300 for this at the start of the year. Love it though :) Risotto in 6 minutes, however it does take a while for it to build the pressure.

  • Not too impress when looking at the review from youtube
But once downloaded the Recipe Book… now I am sold … haha

  • Have one myself and can say that this has been a godsend. The price is the lowest I've seen! I paid $250 from ebay around 4 years ago.

  • Is this item easy to use?

  • This product is outdated, the new version comes with an app. (Not available in Australia yet).

The recipe base in the app is continually updated

There are 2 newer versions, the cook4me + which has more recipes and is coming out now. And the intelligent version which apparently Tefal says they have NO plans on releasing in Australia. Also they are like double the cost of this deals version

      • I believe up coming version in Australia is performing the same function
but just having more in-built recipes?

If so, my understanding is that we can still use the current cook4me to do meals with other new recipes
        Simply using the "manual mode"?

My only question is, currently some recipes do have a browning step to pre-cook some ingredients
Not sure whether it is possible to do browning in "manual mode"?

        • +1

Yep, the first version (bargain ver) has 40 or something, newer australian version has 120 I think, but you cant input new recipes in either version.

You CAN do everything else with "manual mode" but the recipes have stuff like add the meat, add the ingredients, close the lid, and have time included.

BROWNING, QUICK COOKING, REHEAT and KEEP WARM are the manual mode options.

There is a facebook page where people who cook with it make new recipes in the "Tefal Cook4Me Community" facebook page

@gagiman: Cool, that answered all my questions! And I have made my purchase too!

As long as all the cooking options are available in Manual mode
I don't think its worth paying a double just to get more in-built recipes

Anyway, I feel its a bargain to get this cooker below the $200 mark!

        • @kungbernard: in built recipes are handy but totally not necessary, since people add various ingredients anyway. Just a timing thing :)

  • is this a slow cooker?

    • No, it doesn't slow cook. Think the new one might though
