  • Thats good and same deal as previous one (75k Qantas points if I remember) but with lower income. Not sure if I applied for other already, can I apply for this one again. or I have to cancel other and wait for 1 year ?

    • +2

You have to wait the one year.

    • Also ANZ frequent flyer and rewards cards are different categories and you can have both at the same time 😊

      • Has that been confirmed?

        • Can attest to this. FF Black, then applied for Rewards Black. Bonus points and annual fee free for both. Even the t&c only mention specific card types that are excluded if you have had them in past 12 months.

Have now cancelled FF black, with Rewards my main card spend. With the current bonus transfer to velocity, I am getting 1.3 FF pts per dollar.

        • @Coops1:

Awesome. Anyway it's actually 0.8 points transfer to Velocity including the bonus 30% bonus as Anz Rewards transfer at 2:1

        • @nightelves:

The earn rate I was referring to was for the Black which earns rewards at 2ppd and converts to 1ff, so 30% on top is 1.3. All these ANZ cards are great, if you play them the right way and happy to keep cancelling and flipping between :)

So can we still apply for this if already have FF Black?

        • see below

        • @Peck:

:( Looks like answer is no.

Do you know if you're still eligible for this if you've had held an ANZ frequent Flyer in the past 12 months? Their eligibility criteria doesn't mention it.

    Never mind, found it:
    1. Offer available to new and approved applicants who apply for an ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum credit card account. This is a limited time only offer which may be withdrawn or changed at any time without notice. Not available in conjunction with other offers, packages or promotions, or when transferring from an existing ANZ credit card or where you currently hold or have closed an ANZ Frequent Flyer, ANZ Frequent Flyer Gold, ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum or ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card within the previous twelve months

I have both Anz Black's. Got this card as well with a different address, email, phone number, made the minimum spend requirements..didn't get the points. No annual fee was charged.

      • +2

They would have referenced the same credit file. Hard to get around that.

  • Min credit $6K, a lot better than $15k for the black.

  • Boo, I applied for the one with 50k points last week! Activated the card yesterday :(

    • Ouch that extra 15k would have got you a domestic return flight.

  • What's 65k qantas points worth?
I currently have over 100k points with Amex and still thinking if convert it to Qantas or just get gift cards… to buy a note 8 haha.

    • Unless you have an Ascent Premium rewards card (Amex Platinum charge card or similar), you will not have the option to transfer the points to QFF.

      • Yeah. It's just a DJ Amex so good to be transferred. Still don't know whether selling, transferring or getting gift cards is bed to go… need to do research.

  • Just applied.

Plan to close the card before the annual fee applies. Is that simply calling them the day before the 12 month activation anniversary or should it be done earlier. Do not want to be slugged with that annual fee!

    • Yup, pretty simple process

    • Seriously, is this how it works? I was under impression annual fee applies on the first statement.

      • There is no annual fee in the first year. Thus why this is a great deal,

  • ANZ rewards give lesser rewards, for example to get $50 Bunnings card ANZ rewards require 11000 points as most of the other rewards and frequent flyers give the same for 9000 points.

  • how do I sell my qff points.. I got 475k points

had to upload my two recent payslips
approved this afternoon with card in the mail

    • with card in the mail ???

      • Congratulations! Your ANZ credit card application has been approved. You will receive the Card, Welcome Kit with the approved credit limit, and PIN within 3-5 business days. You may call us to confirm the limit on 1800 076 113 between 8am-7pm AEST, Mon-Fri.

        • I got the same thing. I thought you got the card delivered the same day.

        • @d86: got the card yesterday.

        • @Heybargain: me too

  • Could we ask for the extra 15K points?

    • I would at least try! My partner wont ring, she got it early Oct, met min spend last week, expecting 50k at some point :(

      • +2

I just called and can confirm that even though I signed up on the 50,000 QFF points link and activated the card on the 25th of October, I am eligible to claim the 65,000 QFF points now as long as I satisfy the spending criteria (eg. $2500 on eligible purchases in 3 months)

        • Didn’t do the same for us :(

  • Does anyone know if the 3 months period starts from the day it was approved or the day when the card is activated? Thanks :)

  • Not sure why my application got rejected? My income is about 63k yearly.

    • credit history? Existing CC? Lack of savings?

    • Did you ever find out why?

  • Does paying off bills count as eligible purchases?

  • So i've never really used credit cards apart from a 28 Degrees when travelling. I recall there were a few good deals with Citibank that came once every few months.

Would this or something like the Citibank Citibank Platinum Rewards Credit (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/337080) be worth while to have as my only credit card?

Basically looking to get as much bonus promotional points then to use as a card for regular spending.
