    13", 14" and 15" … not enough mate!

    • +2

How many inches do you want?

      • +1

        Size does matter!

      • +5

at least 16" which is the norm

        • +8

          Oh stop bragging.

        • +4

          Overcompensating for his IQ

        • +9

It was a good year until these tyreing comments…

        • +5

          @Tuba:

          Wheely?

        • +2

          @Tuba: hi dad…

        • @Scab: rimshot

        • +2

I don't see why it wouldn't fit. My car comes with 16". I changed them to 18" wheels. As the 18's have low profile tyres the diameter of the wheel/tyre combo is virtually identical.

The size of the rim is irrelevant when it's not considered with the tyre profile

      • +1

        Thirties.

        That's right, thirties.

        • +1

          Bitchin'

        • +1

          @Salmando:
So…. does it fit on a $80k high yield investment ?

      • This guy measures

    • +1

yup, majority of cars these days are >= 16in

      • +12

        Probably targeted towards securing trailers.

    • +33

What is this? Wheel clamps for ants?

      • +4

Dunno about you guys but I want to make sure my Corolla is 100000% safe, seeing as how rare it is.

    • +2

Well it is XS. XL is on sale next week.

    • Diameter. Not length. Good luck fitting it in anywhere, you'll have to go solo

  • +58

Might have to bulk buy and head down to the local ranger station. Give them a taste of their own.

    • +24

      We can start a movement!!!

      …of non-moving cars

  • +12

So what's the consequences for locking random car?

    • +55

      Black eye

      • +7

Not if they don't see me locking their car.

        • +1

          Covert op?

        • @Lps:
          Nope, Urban Camo: Asian face.

          I kid, or do I?

    • +1

      if you get caught?

    • +27

What a great idea. While the parking inspector is writing me a ticket, I can lock his car and demand the price of the ticket + $1 to release his car.

Then afterwards I can drive to 7/11 and reward myself with a $1 coffee.

      • +2

I wonder, would they have to give themselves a fine if they've went over the time limit?

      • +1

busted out at the 711 dollar coffee

        • +1

I must admit, the +$1 had me guessing. Good twist.

      • +3

Save that $1 for 7-11 day. Get a free slurpee with your coffee. Ozbargain style.

    • about $40

    • What's the consequences of locking a Sheriff's Car??

      • not as brutal as in the States.

        • +2

          So not shot?

        • +1

          @Salmando:
          What about a Deputy?

        • +3

          @Kangal:
I shot all the deputies a while back. Didn't get in trouble, because they blamed some guy who shot a sheriff I believe.

  • +1

Put your mobile number on it and ask them to pay for it.

ALDI should sell one not using key instead using keypad code.

    • +2

They can pay for it and whatsapp for the release code and can get the clamp for free …..

      • +4

        then pass on the tradition??

      • +2

I like the way you think, ransomware.

    • +2

      IRL ransomware

    • +2

      Yeah, that'd be great.
Put a website to post the PIN to, and a QR code with your bitcoin address.
Real-life ransomware! You can't simply restore a backup of your car!

  • +1

Is it legal to clamp someones wheel if they're blocking your driveway?

    • I think so as long as you don't cause any damage to the car

    • -3

Is it legal to clamp someones wheel if they're blocking your driveway?

No but is it legal to block your driveway? Nope.

Will the police care that they blocked your driveway so you couldn't go about your daily business? Nope.
Will the police care that you clamped them so they couldn't go about their daily business? Yep.

Is this wrong on every front? Yep so do something about it and clamp their wheels. Buy these for cash wearing a baseball cap and wear gloves when fitting. Toss the keys away and video the resulting hilarity.

      • +44

… wouldnt that just result in your driveway being blocked for even longer?

        • +1

wouldnt that just result in your driveway being blocked for even longer?

May be in return of $$$

        • -3

… wouldnt that just result in your driveway being blocked for even longer?

Will the jackass do it again? Probably not.

Will you make money on YouTube? Absolutely.

Offer to remove it using a 9" angle grinder for $200. If you slip a few times that's just a bonus.

        • +27

@superforever: What would be the point of buying it in cash in disguise and wearing gloves if you are going to put your phone number on it?

Honestly, you guys are really bad at crime. Stick to buying cheap Xiaomi pens and Eneloops.

        • @jjcf:

going to put your phone number on it?

          Some kind of prepaid mobile

        • @superforever:

          Some kind of prepaid mobile

You haven't thought this through have you?

        • @Maverick-au:

You haven't thought this through have you?

Of course I have but in here you need some kind of identification to use prepaid.

        • @superforever:

Not really. they ask for ID, but don't actually check it.

If I show someone my drivers license, and they check my photo and signature, that is ID.
But the online phone activation relies on dumb honesty that you give your own license number.

      • So what's the verdict - legal or illegal to clamp?

        • Tampering with a motor vehicle. Criminal offense.

      • No but is it legal to block your driveway? Nope.

Councils are in charge of this & it breaks their by-laws.
Enforcement is usually the issue as they need an enforement office to witness the offence & issue a ticket.

But if pushed the cops can call the owner & strongly suggest they move it.

    • but then they cant unblock your driveway?

Next week's Aldi special - portable plasma cutter.

    • +2

Add a bit of rust and aluminium and you can re-fashion your mags a treat:-)

    • +5

Given the 'quality' of the Workzone tools, I suspect you could knock this thing off with a hammer.

      Or a light breeze.

    • +2

Next weeks Aldi special - keys to the clamp

      • ALDI reusable clamp token on keychain - $4.99.

  • +8

'+' just for the description :-)

      • +11

It says 'please'. It's a friendly request, not a law.
Maybe you can get a moderator to remove my vote? :-P

Edit: you also assume it is not a good deal. I think it probably is. One that I had no application for, until the very good description gave me ideas…

What is happening to this good Christian site??

        • +1

          Christian site??😱😁

Would this trick inspectors into not giving me fines if I, let's say, park in a disabled spot but put this on the wheel so they think it is being towed away by a government organisation already?

    • +3

      Nice try!

      • +1

        They are not dumb X)

    • +2

      XDD

    • +2

      ^^^ You da real MVP

    • +8

Parking at a normal parking spot for free I don't care, but taking up a disabled spot is not on.

    • +2
    • inspectors will likely fine you if you don't display a valid permit, but that's the least of your concerns.
you might also get randoms keying your car, breaking your window, loosening the bolts on your wheel….

    • +7

You could put one on each rim, basically locking them out from locking you in.

    • +1

You will make the day of any inspector who has been carrying a small tube of superglue for just such an opportunity…

    • +1

If they add another wheel clamp in, unlock it as well and take the free wheel clamps. Bargain!

  • +3

The comments in this deal are unsettling.

    • +31

are the comments clamping your sense of humour?

        • +15

You should check out the OzBargain threads for condom and rooster garden ornaments then.

        • +2

these kids be clamping your style

        • +1

.. can you at least pay me for the reference to the clamping joke? sigh… no wonder i didn't cut it as a comedian…

        • +4

get a grip mate…childish humour may be a vice, but it's not something to clench your fist at!

you're really clutching at straws here with your gripe.

let the mods grapple with the problem (I'm sure they have a firm grasp of the issue, so it'll be a cinch!).

      • +5

He’s getting really tyred of our jokes.

        • +2

Too bad he's locked in to the bad puns we throw around here

  • $40 isn't too much for a good prank

  • Wonderful! Now I can find out what it's like to have your car clamped by the Sheriff for not paying a private road toll.

  • +4

My local sheriff does this for free.

  • And what happens if you forget it's on the wheels and you hop in the car to try to drive off. That would be funny.
