Thanks for the post. I post about 20 500g Bag a week , with items I sell on eBay. Now that eBay charge you 10% even on the postage amount. This should cover this fee.

    • That's great - you should be getting close to the 15% discount which over a year could be significant ;)

  • Where did you get the that QR code? Did you only get that because you are a new customer? Is that an introductory offer?
Edit: I found it in the send and save menu.

Do you know whether prepaid satchels are included?

Just found this in the T&C's -

Which products and services are excluded from Send and Save?

-Domestic Parcel Post and Express Post prepaid satchels when purchased online

I presume that means you can get the discount when buying instore? Hopefully someone can report back

      • Actually just found this, will try to buy some satchels in store and see if it works with the QR code.

Which parcels qualify and thus contribute to your Send and Save savings level?

Domestic Parcel Post and Express Post prepaid satchels

Prepaid satchels – small (up to 500g), small/medium (up to 1kg) medium (up to 3kg) and large (up to 5kg)
Prepaid same city satchels – Melbourne Metro and Sydney Metro (Express Post only).

  • I doubt the discount works on prepaid satchel since if you purchase 100+ same size satchels,
    there is already a discount.

    • Don't see why it wouldn't work on less than 100 though - about to go to the post office so will report back

  • Tried to use at my local post office today. And they refused to use it. Said they could possible give me 10% discount if I buy 10 or more. I thought you could use it on every satchel purchased. Seemed that way in the email I received. ? Does anyone know.

    • You should be able to. They just have to firstly scan the QR code and then the satchel and the discount should be applied for a single satchel purchased. Did that for 1 of my business customers who came in when the system was down without any hassle.

      • I also tried and it didn't seem to work on single satchel purchase - which is weird as it only has them excluded for online purchases… Although i wonder if my post office scanned the satchel 1st and then the code

        • That might have been the case. I did that initially too (scanned the satchel first and then the code) but the discount did not apply. So I tried scanning the code first and then the satchel and the discount successfully applied.

          @Hunnypooh:

Great - thanks for the info… Will try again another time :)

  • Can confirm that products eligible to receive Send and Save discounts include:
    Parcel post assessed ; <500g, >500g
    EParcel assessed; <500g, >500g
    EParcel platinum assessed; <500g, >500g
    Flat rate satchels; 500g,3kg,5kg
Flat rate box (online only); small, medium, large
Express Post flat rate satchel; 500g,3kg,5kg
Courier post (own packaging up to 22kg)

International delivery parcel - economy small air (up to 2kg) (excluding band 2)
    International standard/Express assessed

    • Really weird but it doesn't scan as a discount at my local post office - bit of a bugger as you can't get the prepaid satchels online

      • Oh that’s a bummer. Did the person over the counter scan your qr code prior to scanning the satchel? When I scanned the qr code, it comes up with customer name and when I scanned the satchel next, there was a discount already applied. Not too sure why it is that way in your case unfortunately

        • Yeah they tried both on 2 seperate occasions - also just got off live chat and they confirmed prepaid satchels count towards your 'count' but you don't get a discount…
Pretty bad wording from the website, they said they would pass on the feedback to the project manager (doubt anything will be done however)

@urbancartel: ah… yeah that seems to be the case.. horrible wording.. not sure how my customer got the discount. Might have been a system glitch that day. Ah wells.
