Hey team! My first deal, be nice!

This one slipped under the radar it seems, normally I'm late to the party.

For previous Note 7 owners planning to buy (or have bought) a Note 8.

The method of receipt depends on how you purchased your Note 7.

If Note 7 was purchased through a carrier, and you purchase your Note 8 also through a carrier (including MRO on a plan): $250 Samsung Store voucher by redemption.
If Note 7 was purchased through Samsung Online or Retail Store, get $250 off Note 8 purchase through same channel.

There are some exemptions so please read the T&Cs very carefully. T&Cs

  • Not worth it as you can buy the note 8 cheaper with the ebay deals posted

    • +1

Yeah, can't re-contract through eBay though.

    • with 12 month screen assurance?

      • That's free if you have certain AMEX cards.

        • It's free if buy from Samsung too.

      • +1

Yeah, and screen assurance is worth a lot more these days given how expensive and fragile the new screens are. $350 to replace a s7 edge :o

    Old news

  • i heard through an old note 7 owner that they contacted him with an offer for a swap over from the note 7 to the note 8 with a freebie as well but not too sure on the exact details through

    • Interesting.. I wasn't contacted at all about it.. When it all went down, they kept me in the loop but lately, just advertising..

    • +1

How would that even work? Note 7 are not on the market anymore. Swap over from what? Surely he is not using a Note 7 anymore.

  • That redemption starts soon has been like that for weeks, people were saying october 9th, well thats been and gone and we are still holding our c… in our hand. I emailed these jokers and they still haven't got back to me.

Someone messaged them on twitter and all they said was soon. Samsung pull your finger out

if they do $250off + wireless charger + case + protection + S3 Watch + 360 Cam + Cash reward and Amex offer for Note 7 Customer, then i will think about it.

It was a pain to claim my phone and all the accessories back, took me 2 months to receive full payment and i had many email conversation and the in store experience was super bad about the refund.

    • Yeah, it definitely was a bit of a headache.. I would be lying if I said that I didn't enjoy 3 free fast chargers though.. (2 x Note7, 1 x S7e loan phone)

I got Wireless charger + case + protection + amex offer. Was good! I later claimed through salary sacrifice so ended up costing me around $780 which is great.

You might as well ask for all that for free then according to your logic.. because of your pain and trauma going through it all.

This deal has been around for almost 2 months and is STILL NOT ACTIVE YET.

Samsung are amazingly slack when it comes to this sort of stuff.

    • Thanks for reminding me. I rang them up to check on my Wireless charger status and still have not moved. Gonna be pretty pissed if they havent done anything by next week.

  • Only $250? Really?

They make you wait a year, and the discount is only less than 20%?

    • Agree. They bumped up the price too from the note 7

  • This "deal" has been talked about even since the demise of the Note 7, although the final amount wasnt confirmed until a couple of weeks before the launch of the Note 8.

Talked about it quite a bit. So not sure why it's a "deal" all the sudden when realistically it is targeted offer and discussed in detail.

  • Have your Galaxy Note7 proof of purchase from an Australian carrier or retailer

Really Samsung? Do you think people would have their original receipts from nearly a year ago? And not to mention that people were refunded due to the incident?

  • Just contacted them again "Hi *, please stay tuned for further announcements 😀-Sara"
They seem to be dragging their feet!
