    Hi Rep,

Given that your prices change daily, you never sell at the 'retail' price, inclusive postage is offered some days and not others … what makes this an actual real bargain and not simply more of your daily specials?
Often such items are more expensive that it was a week ago or they end up on 'sale' -even cheaper- in 2 or 3 days time?

$120 + free postage one day. "1 day sale"
      $100 + $20 postage the next. "1 day sale"
      Rinse, repeat.

Having said that, their quality is comparable to other brands but their prices are definitely much cheaper. Some have had trouble with after sale support but I've never had to return anything.

Only ever bought in store in Lilydale.

Their products are cheap, delivery times/stock-levels are very hit and miss and the support/returns/refund services are crap.
However - especially if you can pickup from one of their stores - the prices are cheaper than other similar standard products and sometimes 3-4 times cheaper than better quality products.

Even within the routine price fluctuations you can pickup bargains.
It helps to track daily price changes & stock levels, buy when when the items you want are cheapest and then pickup as one bulk lot, if/when they have stock of the things you want.

      • Roof top tents, sell for $895, 795, then $695. Still with free delivery, sometimes not.

Drawers, anything from $495 down to $375, same set.

They are not same quality, but at times it doesnt matter.

ie: Their Thumper compressor is good for the money. But if I was remote, as in a long long way from help, phone signal, and traffic, I wouldnt want to rely on it. It would be a nice backup for something fully rebuildable like the ARB compressor though, as even the expensive stuff can fail. If you just go local where failures are an inconvenience then maybe its worth it, maybe not depending on what a recovery costs, or if its timely say on a beach with incoming tide.

I have their drawers. First set the trims fell off the wood tops. And the fridge slide section distorted in transit. Lucky i opened it in their driveway at Lawnton I think it is (warehouse, not display room), I got it swapped immediately. But these were pre order, so Id hate to the last bugger to collect, as I had theirs.

People had their recovery gear, that was recalled, but 4WDSC reused batch numbers so people with two or more straps had no way to tell which was which, and 4WDSC tried to bluff them they had to pick one at random and exchange it.

Why use a batch number if its not unique to a batch?
Why tell people they can only exchange when its their choice, not the sellers?
How the hell can you tell people they need to randomly pick an item for the recall from several they have?

As a heads up, snatch straps are garbage if they dont stretch well. As elasticity is important, kinetic energy is the essence of snatch recovery. And despite the low KG snapping that had them recalled, they had bugger all stretch (8% IIRC). A good strap has a good 20%.

So even if they state their new straps are better, dont count on it being any more than the first lot they get.

When you consider how dangerously some people connect snatch straps, the potential hazards from breaks can be devastating. Its not worth saving money on recovery gear. Just an opinion.

  • Being a camping family & owning a 4wd I am glad that 4wdsupercenter has joined ozbargain and look forward to some great post/deals in the future. As a community we have been known for crashing a website ( or two ) when the deal is good, this however might not be the best 1st post. Welcome though rep :)

Hopefully they can post actual deals for Ozbargain and don't simply mimic the daily marking spam from their emails/website.
