How about you post your price list for delivery so people can understand what the charges are?

    • Thanks for your feedback mate. Will update the post.

Nice service, but where's the bargain.

Maybe a reduced commission for ozbargain users, then it will qualify, otherwise its really just spam

    • The commission charges are an introductory offer and will increase in the future.

  • The Freebie tag is only for deals that cost absolutely nothing to claim or use. In this instance there is a flat rate shipping fee as well as 3 percent commission fee. I will remove the Freebie tag now.

  • im confused so after reading the ads, i have the following questions?
    1. Do you accept listing of any items ? so far i only see food related?
    2. Pick up of item is free?

      1. If you want to list item in a category that isnt there, just let us know which category you want to be added. Currently, we have products listed in only one category. We want to keep the interface clean for visitors. That's why we are not adding all the categories and leaving it without products. We want to add those categories only which have any product in them.
      2. Yes we will pickup and deliver. Once you receive an order we will contact you to arrange a suitable pickup time.
If you have any further doubts please feel free to contact us.

We advertise our products online. And we plan on introducing flash sales as well. We will work with the vendors and cut commission and shipping charges at our end.
We expect vendors to help spread the word as well. Use social media and other free platforms to market their products online.
Its a partnership between us and vendors. We need to work together and get benefited from each others.
Other marketplaces charge upto 15% commission. We hope vendors price their products on our website considering the lower commission and shipping charges. Lower prices will help attract more customers. Plus we plan on bringing down the shipping time to less than 24 hours. That's another thing we hope will encourage customers through us.
Furthermore, if you have any suggestion, please feel free to share with us.
          Thanks.

        • @pgrewal:
i just did some keyword search "buy sell Australia" its not even coming up in the first 5 pages of google. Oh dear

        • First we need solid vendor base and then we will work on SEOs and marketing. Attracting customers without anything to sell will do more harm than good.

        • @pgrewal:
Sorry that wont happen, the truth is your just wasting peoples time, as a seller im not going to spend time and effort to list something and not getting results , when i can list else where with the same effort and get a return. This site is not ready for prime time, you really should work on your SEO, partner with a big seller to get product listed and traffic first is my advise. Start off with commonly use item that will sell etc.. just my 2c

        • @andy2: Thanks for your advise. But regarding your comment about me wasting people's time, I am not judging you based on your comments, please don't judge me without any knowledge about me or my project.
As I said marketplaces charge upto 15% commission + transaction fee + I don't know how many hidden charges. Who pays for that? Aussies are forced to pay all the charges in terms of cost of item. Moreover the money goes to tax heavens overseas.
I am not saying that I am running a non-profit organization. I am trying to keep the charges to minimum so that I can keep up with my expenses.
If I fail trying it doesn't matter. Atleast I know that I tried my best.

I wish you all the best and hope you succeed, the concept is good. i will keep a eye on your site. Always good to see other alternative besides ebay etc..

@andy2: Thanks Mate, I would consider myself successful on the day you join us as a vendor. I will wait for that day.

          Have a nice day.

    Is there any seller protection?

    • We are using paypal and paypal seller protection is by default for all accounts.

  • Sounds like a great idea, hope you come to Canberra soon!

    2 questions:

    1. Does your delivery option come with a tracking number? Otherwise sellers paid by PayPal will lose any claim made by the buyer

    2. Will sellers be allowed to require bank deposit payments only? (This would make you way better than eBay!)

Also, you need an "About" page or something that explains all the rules. I don't see any info on your site.

    • We keep all the PODs with us. It has a reference number so its easy to trace.
The payment will first go into our account and then we will transfer it to the vendors. Currently, for vendor payments transfer, we are sticking to paypal only. But may start Bank Transfers if more vendors want it that way. The commission we charge include the paypal commission. With paypal, they have different slabs for commissions, more you earn lesser is their commission. So the best way is that we get all the money into our account and then transfer it to the vendors after taking out commission out.
Since its out paypal account that gets paid by buyer, we will take care of the claims.
Unfortunately, we do not have any plan on moving to Canberra at the moment. Unless someone from Canberra wants to tie up with us and replicate the model.
Its not going to be easy to survive in this competitive market. So our aim is to get established in Melbourne first and then we will think of expanding. This might take a few years.

      • Oh, so sellers receive payments without having to pay the PayPal commission (just your 3% commission and postage), and have 100% seller protection?? And buyers also get protection because they're using PayPal?? That sounds like a dream come true —- as long as you don't get too many scamming buyers, since you'll be the ones that suffer :-/

If the above interpretation is correct, you should lead your deal/ad with that! It is very attractive to sellers. Also post on Whirlpool

Edit: Also if the above is true, you won't be making much, if any, money - PayPal charge 2.9% + 30c I believe. Is it worth it for you? Will you run ads on the site or something?

        • This is just an INTRODUCTORY offer. If we start loosing too much money then we will revise the commission. But I think we should be able to survive. Its not my only source of income so I am not too worried about earning from here. Paypal charges 2.6% + 30c. https://www.paypal.com/au/webapps/mpp/paypal-seller-fees?&kw…
