Details
With Tony Award winning music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine, Into the Woods has been an audience favourite for decades, and Western Arts Theatre is proud to present this new production at The Clocktower Centre.

Intertwining the plots of several Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault fairy tales, and exploring the consequences of the characters' wishes and quests, Into the Woods is a theatrical experience for the young and young-at-heart.

This is all tied together by a story involving a childless baker and his wife, and their quest to begin a family, their interaction with a witch who has placed a curse on them, and their interaction with other storybook characters during their journey. It also examines the moral consequences of having your wishes granted, and what happens after ‘happily ever after.’

Come join Western Arts Theatre as we journey Into the Woods!

Ha, this is the first time I've been in an OzBargain post! I'm playing Cinderella's Father in the show, so I've marked myself as associated.

Anyway, it's a great show, and the tickets for tonight and the Friday matinee (public holiday) are definitely a bargain at those prices :)

    • What a great show you guys put on - everyone up there was amazing! So glad I went, it was very entertaining.

Did notice some minor technical issues, with the mic not being on at times, but these, I suppose are what previews are meant to iron out. It did not detract from the show at all.

Wish you and the company all the best for the real run in the next few days :-)

: ) Yes can't wait to see it, I was so surprised at how beautiful this show is with the costumes, sets and an orchestra!

  • Thanks OP, great deal. Have bought seats. Was not aware of the theatre or the company before this. Really looking forward.

BTW, have never been to Clocktower Centre, is parking a problem at all? Thanks.

Hi, there is a button you can press to choose your own seats, but requires adobe flash to use this function. There is still middle seats from row H (tonight's show). You can alway call up the box office on 92439191 to buy the tickets and talk about where you want to seat, you can collect it when you get there. Yes there is alot of parking all around as it is just across the road from Queens park, civic centre, Moonee Ponds central : )

      • Thanks Ceceilia for the info. I found how to choose seats :-)
Not familiar with that area at all, better go early I guess.

        • @Ceceilia: I am sure I will. Thanks :-)
