Dammit They tried to sell me a house in Sydney Canada!

The ATO may accept Google Pay card if you ask nicely.

  • Got one last time as a rainy day card or gift to someone at 50% off

What do you guys use skype for anyway? I find I dont use it as much as the previous ten years with other methods of calling being more popular fb whatsapp etc

    • I always have some credit ($20) when travelling to call mobiles/landlines at home/overseas, tour companies, hotels etc.

    • You use Skype when you need to call home from overseas when calls are extremely high. Also calling 1800 number from US is free.

    • True it is a good card to keep when you going overseas once redeemed how long do credits take to expire.

      • Indefinite but account is hibernated if not used for 6 months IIRC. Just attempt a call or SMS to forestall having to ask for reactivation.

        • I know gift cards are 12 months till expiration
Netflix gift cards are actually quite good they never expire. Better off me buying the cards with Amex plat and getting the 2000 flybys too
I didnt know gift cards were another way to make savings and get a bargain.

        • @DaTa: There is an expiry date for the card to convert it to account credit, but once in the account, it lasts indefinitely, subject to hibernation as mentioned.

  • Is there a way to redirect text message when travelling oversea? I sometimes need to get text message for online banking needs.

Just enable roaming and disable mobile data. It is free to receive SMS with most Australian plans.

  • Skype to go with the grandfathered Skype Premium Unlimited Plan (50 countries mobiles and landlines) for 128/year. My entire family is overseas. It works well when I travel too. I can just call local numbers to be put through to AU (mobiles and landlines). Although this is probably the very last time that I am renewing my subscription. Even my grandparents use FB Messenger these days ;-)

  • Bit of a stupid question perhaps but can I use these Amaysim vouchers to recharge/add credit to my unlimited 5 GB plan? I am asking as i looked around in my account and could find no obvious way to add recharge voucher

    • +1

It's on the main page: Redeem a Voucher button. Once you have the credit in your account, next month you can use the credit to pay. Provided it isn't set to charge your credit card. Not sure because I've always paid with voucher or BPay, not CC.

      • Thanks greenpossum. Found redeem a voucher section, going to buy a few recharge vouchers this week. Can't believe i have been paying using cc all this time when I could have gotten at least 5% from buying these vouchers at woolies. do these go on sale like this week often?

do these go on sale like this week often?

I don't think so. Or at least, I haven't seen them posted on OzB.

        • @mastablasta: time to buy a few then

  • Only 40% off instead of 50% like last time for skype :(
I am running out though so it will have to do.
Should be able go combine with discounted wish voucher as well.

  • Can these Skype cards be used for subscription services like those Skype in landlines numbers?

  • Do amaysim vouchers need to be activated by a certain time limit?

    • Yeah, you need to use them by a certain date. That date will be printed on the voucher.
