      • What the incentives for joining, other than this offer? I only see some offers for gift cards. Do you get any other promotions?

        • +2

I bought the digital gold coast version and there are nearly 500 discount vouchers across hundreds of different cafes, restaurants, fast food, bakeries, activities like bowling, golf, skydiving, etc.
Most discounts on food are either buy one get one free or 25% off the total bill. So basically use the book for 2-3 nights out at a restaurant and it has paid for itself already!!
Just be prepared for some staff not to know what on earth you are talking about when you mention the entertainment book so if you can suffer the occasional uncomfortable moment while they ask someone else what the deal is then its insanely worth it!
And the digital version is awesome, just download the app on your phone, no having to remember the book and you can search nearby for restaurants, etc, or if you are planning on going to certain town/suburb you can search in advance and plan accordingly.
          Highly recommend!

        • @lordezekiel:
Are the restaurants quite expensive in their normal menu (e.g. about $20 for just a meal)? If so it's not that appealing

        • +3

@citygal: Not at all, the price range is vastly different depending on the place, some places main meals might be closer to $10-12, others $15-20, and higher than that of course depending on what you order.
If you ever looked at that $29 seafood chefs special and were always put off by its price, suddenly you and your partner can have one each for that price for a special occasion or if you just real hungry or whatever :P

        • @lordezekiel:
That sounds great! I looked up the entertainment book in Sydney and the most restaurants are so expensive to start off with!

        • @citygal: Lots of fastfood places in the Book so if you were that way inclined you'd make plenty of savings there.

        • @Pete Gabitas:
If I order the book, how long does it usually take for it to arrive?

        • @citygal:
Gets dispatched same or next day then it depends on Aus Post.

It works on NEW account. I Just ordered mine

  • How to get the additional membership prices and the Gift Card ?

  • Is this a 12 month subscription? I thought EB rolled over every May?

    • Yeah everything expires at the end of May/1st june.

  • +1

    I didn't get this offer… I think maybe I did something wrong?

    • Me neither, I bought as a new member but didn't see any option to choose a gift.
It's been more than 24 hours and haven't seen any emails regarding this. Is that right?

      • Have you got the gift yet?

        • Get in touch with Entertainment Book and ask about it - they are very helpful.

        • @sam-1966:
So is the gift available to new customers?

        • @citygal: I believe so.

  • +3

    So the exchange rate is
    2 iTunes$ = 1 Woolie$

  • When's the expiry of these? June?

  • Thanks OP. Just got a new Digital membership for Sydney, It has been a few years since I last had an entertainment book membership and I must say the number of restaurants on offer has decreased a lot. It won't be easy getting my money back. Thank good Chemist warehouse and Din Tai Fung are still around.
PS- when do we get the woolworths gift card?

  • Can I ask if this is book or digital copy?

  • so… surprised no one asked… whats the price of the E book

So weird, the buy a membership page of the site doesnt actually tell you how to buy. It only provides links for those who had a membership in the past.

    • The link provided above was for people renewing membership, so that is possibly why it doesn't have the how to buy. I can provide you with the to link for purchase through me if you would like.

As for the price - it depends on which one you are choosing. 'Smaller' memberships are $60, most are $65 and I think the 'big' Sydney one is $70.

  • No price… must be free

  • If you buy the book membership only, do you also get the digital one too?

    • No, you need to choose one or the other. But if you choose the hard copy you can still download the app and use it without the digital membership.

      • How long it will take for woolworths egift card to arrive?

        • Mine only took half and hour or so.

        • @sam-1966: I am still waiting after 16 hours. double checked my Spam and trash folders, I guess I will have to email them if i don't get it by Monday.

          @lokesh7:

I think so. They are very good to deal with. I've been selling the books for 15 or so years now for various groups (kindy, primary and now high school!) and they've always been great.

      • Thanks for your reply. What are the differences between the book membership app and the digital membership?

        • +2

The membership app allows you to look up the offers in your area and search the book.

With the digital membership you can do the same, but you also use it to redeem the 'coupons' instead of carrying the book with you.

Personally, I love the digital membership and you can use it across four devices in the family so my kids can also use it when they are out.

I've been selling the books for 15 or so years, so always happy to answer any questions you might have (or sell you a book!).

  • I am a bit confused. Got all the way to a payment screen without any reference to the free items. Do I choose after payment?

Also is there any way of paying without a CC fee. It appears to be unavoidable, or am I being blind?

    • Credit card fee is unavoidable unless you purchase directly from a seller and pay cash.

    • yes you choose it after payment

Anyone that opted for the movie tickets received them yet?

    • I am keen to know as well.

      • I got mine a few hours ago. So guess it can take a few days

  • Is the $20 iTunes gift card a digital or physical card?

    • I'm pretty sure all are digital.

  • Is this offer still valid today?

  • Sigh.. Ordered last night. Credit Card charged, receipt issued. No card number or voucher.

Tried to activate from receipt and got an error screen.

Hate phoning places, I am sure they will fix it, but it is a pain!

    Thanks OP. :)

But rep maybe having the card number on the receipt would mean the card can at least be activated/used. I had planned to go somewhere today. :0

  • Anyone received their iTunes gift card already?

    • Just received the card on Friday, unfortunately I can’t redeem it as it says it hasn’t been properly activated 🤔

      • I received it on Friday 13th as well. I managed to redeem it today.

      • Is it working now? If not, contact Entertainment and they should be able to fix it for you.

        • Seems to be all sorted now, mustve needed some time to activate on the back end… thanks
