  • Im guessing there's some reason why these are trash in some way?

Guessing it's TN Panel, but that's expected at this price point esp for a 144hz

  • This is actually normal price or thereabouts. They jacked the price up during the "free shipping" promotion.

    • oh really? ive been eyeing it off for a few weeks at this price, had read on whirlpool that its dropped much lower before so was waiting for another drop.

  • +1

    Response Time 5ms

    Abort

    • What's the issue with a 5ms response time? It's not like your eyes/optic nerve can resolve changes in under 5ms anyway? Isn't normal measurable response time like 30ms?

      • -1

I can clearly tell the difference between 2ms (my old TN) and 4ms (my new IPS). While I really like my IPS, I do wish it was 1ms.

        • +4

I don't think you can see a difference of 2ms in refresh rate. I don't think that's possible. Maybe you are seeing something else, or the manufacturer was lying About the specs or it's in your head

        • Really? I just went from 1ms TN to 4ms IPS panel and I can't tell the difference.

        • Input lag is different to refresh rate.

      noted, will add to title.

Is this an updated version or the old version thats been around a while?

  • Specs don't list what the range of FreeSync operation is…

Surprising price though, didn't know this product existed.

    • yeah unfortunately from past experience getting extra information about a product that isnt listed on its page can be a pain when contacting kogan support, previously bought a dual monitor arm from them, and it stated 10kg maximum weight, but did not say if it was 10KG in total or Per arm, took them about 2 weeks and 6 back and forth emails to get me the correct information i was after.

      • when posting deals that take advantage of codes, usually better to the link as the main link as opposed to description. Makes it easier for mobile users to copy the code and then hit thumbnail to see the deal.

        Sorry for the nag. thanks

        • yep, my bad, forgot to change the link when i was informed it was cheaper on ebay and added the code.

      Apparently it's;
      got a TN panel
      Freesync range is 40hz - 144hz
      1 Dead Pixel Warranty Replacement
      3 Stuck Pixel Warranty Replacement

Reasonably mixed reviews when you search, but hard to know what specific model they refer to, kogan manual is for a non-dp screen even…
I get tempted every now and then to get one..

      • nice find, adding to description

Nice deal! I got $20 Kogan credit as well and with the Domino's free pizza code, I got a chance at scoring one of those $30 off $120 spend vouchers too!

    So if everything goes right, that's $239 + $14 shipping - $20 - $30 = $203

For what it's worth i got one of these the last time it was on sale, i think it was around $189.

You certainly get a 144hz monitor and that is about it. Don't expect too much more than that. The TN panel required some adjusting and certainly won't compete with an IPS one but that is to be expected.

The base of the monitor is not adjustable so you will need to use books or something to prop it up if needed. Alternatively I think it conforms with some VESA standards but I haven't tried using this.

The one I got had a stuck pixel which I managed to get unstuck. It does get stuck again one every few months (usually when it's cold or I haven't used the montior for a while) but I have always been able to get it unstuck again which is great. I think this will be the biggest luck of the draw so you mileage may vary. Having said that, it seems that there is a bit of lottery panel even for the more expensive monitors out there so there's not much you can do there.

Overall I've been quite happy with it considering how much cheaper this is compared to other 144hz panels out there.

  • Would this be good for a PS4 pro?

    • +1

Don't think so. I am 99% sure consoles run at 60fps so the 144hz feature would be a waste. Also this monitor isn't 4k so you would lose out on the 4k resolution that the ps4 pro offers.
