good phone and OS but its not going to be prevalent in the coming years!
Also phone specs are a bit old now and if your looking in the $29 cap I would say go with the Xperia X10 on optus $29 cap rather than thisThat would be nice, but (looking…) the X10 is on the $49 cap. (Or +$21/month on the $29, but that makes no sense.)
Anyway, Maemo vs Android is a much more important question than the hardware differences between those two models.

this
now that I have checked looks like they changed it back to the $49 but It was free on the $29
I think The new Operating system Meego will run on the N900 OS http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/1745719/meego-run-n…
Wow that is cheap.
The $29 cap is good for only about six minutes/day, but you can use VoIP for a lot of calls. (N900 is excellent for SIP or Skype)
BIG WARNING: data is $2/MB if data pack is exceeded, so only get this if you are good at monitoring your use.
200MB is included, but you are better off choosing the free calls to 3/Voda and buying a data plan, e.g. $5/month for 350MB.
(350 MB is $700 if you forget to activate the data pack!!)
