I use facial moisturiser on my face just so happens the beard is on my face also. Will be investing in some oil i think.
your beard must be short
Use oils to soften and condition your beard. Use balms to style and shape.
I recommend Milkman products (little bit pricey though).
2 1/2 months in (average genetics) beard not long enough to shape yet but will look into the balms once i have some length.
moisturiser + medium to long facial hair might make your beard look shiny/jizzed on. May not be meant for application on hair. Ingredients specifically catered for skin vs hair are different, but some overlap hence beard oil does both
