Source iVis Firefly 2L Hydration Pack $14.99 + Postage (RRP $119.95) @ Pushys

160

This seems like a really good deal for a hydration pack. Good for night time/morning runs with the reflective strips. There's a yellow and orange colour. Shipping is an extra $12 or combine it with something else to get over $100 for free shipping.

Copy and pasted description from website:
"Hi-Vis hydration pack, for busy roads and night riders. The fluorescent fabric and reflective tape will make you like a sun in even the darkest of situations. Perfect for carrying water and essential provisions the Source iVis Firefly has a 2 litre hydration system, the Source WXP Hydration System. Stay hydrated, stay visible, stay safe."

  • I was wondering how people store/clean these things after use. I have one and after one usage, i found it is impossible to completely drain the water out of it, nor to mention clean it. I would worry mould/bacteria growing, given the moist trapped inside.

Store the bladder in the freezer and mould will not grow.

    • 'Bacteria-Free System- Grunge-Guard Antimicrobial technology blocks bacterial growth for the life of the system.'

  • What's the min distance u would need this?

    • average jog speed is 7-8km/ hr.
It would be faster if you have trained.

If you require a drink for a 30mins jog and doesnt like to carry a bottle.. this is handy as it spread the weight equally over your back.

2L would easily last an 8 hour hike.

This is more for convenience than 'need' :)
P/s: it is also good if you're into bike riding, so u can drink while u bike.

From the picture, it seems to have a tiny pocket for storing tiny items like keys..

    • Depends on how much you drink, temp, energy spent, body mass.

      very rough estimates
22km running, under 2 hours, in less than 30 degrees temp, 160cm -190cm height.
