the Yosion Apple Peel 520, it basically attaches to your Ipod Touch (except for, I believe, the newest generation with the camera) and allows you to use a sim card and make phone calls/ receive sms. It has an extended battery and mic as well. Although it's marketed as turning an Ipod Touch into an Iphone, it is different. There is no data plan, but it also allows you to use prepaid sim cards .
Lightake now sell updated version of Peel520,new version released on October 6th,fixed many bugs!
Apple Peel 520 $79.99 w/free shipping from Lightake : Make calls and sms w/ipod touch!

does it works?
Its featured on Engadget. Pretty much works but requires a jailbroken ipod, specific firmware and still comes with some quirks.
I predict this deal will be deleted.
why?
because it's cheaper than deal extreme and that's a nono

I wouldnt even bother ordering from DX atm, they are struggling to catch up with orders from a month ago and are trying to implement a new system. Its all pear shaped there atm.
@dirtybird: I ordered a few things from them on 20th Sept. I got them early this week.
Seems pretty normal by DX standard.
@dirtybird: I have to agree with you there on DX, plus I'm a real stickler when it comes to companies who lie about what they're selling you.
Claimed a product they were selling was the real article (mobile phone battery), and as soon as it arrived I could tell straight away it was KRIF. Not impressed.
@thewinchester: KRIF?
@ozhunter: It's actually KIRF, Keepin It Real Fake
Cmon, do you really expect to get genuine items from DX? Just take a look at the price. If you bought the same item on eBay for that price, wouldn't you question it?
If it's too good to be true, then exercise caution ;o)
dx appears to be $75 now. was it more before?
so alukado… how about round 70 just for ozb lol
yeh why?
I'm just using reverse psychology. I think its working so far.
hahaha
does 3 internet work once this is installed?? Also, does any sim card work??
Apparently GPRS is functional, although I wouldn't know much about it.
Stumo could be right…but in a different way.
"Analysts quoted by China’s Guangzhou Daily say the people behind the Apple Peel 520 are likely to face a legal challenge, as the device interfaces with the iPod touch using Apple's proprietary 30-pin dock connector without a license".
http://news.softpedia.com/news/Analysts-Cupertino-Will-Sue-t…Therefore "the deal might be deleted" because they wont be allowed to sell them… so get it while you can.
P.S. i dont work for Lightake or anyone that sells these things
only sockpuppets say things like…i don't work for x company :P
2G only consarn it! See:
Chinese FTW
harro good man! you buy now, good price!
me so solly!
(haha not being racist. I'm asian and I love chinese people :D)
Well you are, so…
What a great device.
What has the updated fixed? I thought most of the problems were software based.
i dont think it support GPRS yet and for the phone call quality, it's very unstable too, along with random crashes, not worth the money!
chinese made phones are also famous for ka boom battery XD
its 2g and I dont think it supports internet yet, it needs further hardware to support it. very buggy and I would not buy it for this price, when it first came out its 320 rmb (around 45 bux) but because of the demand, it went up to 520 rmb (around 73 bux)
Nice!
