The DC35 is an older Dyson cordless model, not as powerful as the newer V6/V8 products but well worth it at this price for picking up quick spills etc.

Can also be purchased from directly the Dyson eBay store, where you can use the PINCH5 coupon to bring the price down to $189.05. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dyson-DC35-Digital-Slim-Cordless-… - see deal

with a 5-7.5% off wishcard/bigw cards that'd bring the price down to under $190. And you don't have to wait around all day for the postie to do a knock & run.

I let my dog out after the postie if he tries running.

Good for little odd jobs around the house considering it only lasts about 6 min a charge.

    • We have one and it lasts 20 mins between charges, which is an entire vacuum of our small apartment.

      • Are you sure its the DC35 model?

        • Yes, its only 6 mins on max charge. Which is something I never use.

    • +1

For those down voting DC35 it's 6mins on Max Power. I don't know why you would want to run a vacum at anything other than max power.

It depends on your floor covering, normal mode on my V6 is fine for hard floors and short loop pile and I almost never use Max.

Plus I find running it on Max all the time makes it run really hot and it won't charge until it cools down.

  • But this deal direct from Dyson is about $10 cheaper for this. This is Ozbargain, why pay $199 when you could pay $189.05 from Dyson Australia itself and have the same Australian warranty?. You're not a true Ozbargainer if you're going to be paying that $199 price. That left over $9.95 could buy you a Maccas burger and drink for today's lunch!.

But from big w with discounted wish gift cards paid with platinum edge would be $183.38, cheaper than Dyson price by $5.67

That's what a true ozbargainer would do

      • +1

A true ozbargainer who has the platinum edge, yep!

In addition, can pick up immediately and not have to wait for delivery or arrange picking up from post office if you miss delivery.

I think there's a place for both these deals but this one is better for me personally!

        • A true ozbargainers who has the platinum edge

Is there any other kind??? ;)

Truthfully though, I don't have one anymore… Waiting out my 18 months

        • @tomclancy: haha well personally I would argue that the Explorer is marginally and generally a bit better..!

      • In that case it's different.

  • The link has "Product not available".

  • Cheaper here with ebay voucher

Damn im banned from neg votes.

  • This or $60 extra for a V6 Slim Origin?

    • I'd spend the extra If you needed something good. The V6 models are about 5 years newer than this.

      • How about compared to Miele?

        • You wont find a better cordless than the Dyson. They do an excellent job, only downside is the relatively short running time (same with any cordless product).

Were you after a full sized vacuum? Miele make excellent full sized machines. If you want something powerful and don't want to deal with dust and fiddly maintenance they are perfect. I personally would choose a full sized Dyson as this doesn't really bother me, but they are both good options.

        • @DYEL: well honestly I would prefer both (one for quick cleanups and maybe to just keep in my room and one for full house cleanups) but atm trying to decide which would be the best all rounder or cheapest but strongest performer.

Probably corded if the suction power is much more significant over cordless. Would prefer a cleaner home than to maybe save some time and convenience with cordless. But if they both perform roughly the same and the only difference is say run time then cordless wins hands down as lugging a cord around in my household can be very annoying.

So basically I am trying to find out whether there are any differences in suction power in the high end corded and cordless models or if it is just runtimes and maybe bin capacity.

I am fine with recharging and constantly emptying the bin but not with low performing suction or low seal suction.

My use case is mostly low pile carpet so that is also a major identifier in my personal scenario.

        • @AlienC:

I used to sell vacuums, and people were always very surprised with how good the Dyson cordless are. Very few people would still need another vacuum.

My advice would be to find a deal on something like the V6 (maybe not the slim because of the smaller head), if its not enough for you you can always buy a bigger machine later.
