    Where did you buy your hikvision camera? I'm interested to buy one myself but not sure where to get one due to knock off model

      I've bought 7 from AliExpress but eBay is also an option.
      Buy from a seller with a lot of good feedback.

      Choose the NI international models (not N with firmware hacked to English) if you want to be able to upgrade firmware.

        @televisi: no I prefer not to use their cloud feature for access to my cams.
        I use the older IVMS-4500 app direct to IP address.

        I'm looking at this Hikvision DS-2DE3304W-DE 3MP but cannot seems to see the "NI" that you referred before; are you able to quickly check this whether this should be an okay model?

  Anyone here allowed their rtsp stream to be accessed outside of their LAN?
  I'd like to do this but worried about the security risk involved.

    You can enable the rtsp stream authentication and access it by rtsp://username:password@ip-address/stream1
