Sellers will be busy adjusting prices

No need for stores already jacked up

And if they were too slow to raise the price, they'll just cancel the sale and re-list the items at the higher price.

Can we global search those stores now?

    • +112

After fixing a spelling mistake, incorrect IDs and case-sensitiveness (thanks eBay!), I was able to create a searchable list; Click here.

That list above excludes auscamsales as the user no longer exists, but I believe they may now be known as australiancamerasales and have included them here for completeness.

Let me know if something is still broken. Cheers.

    Hello Shopmonk,

Pls put more QC35 out for sale on $299! Big Daddy needs one :-)

    • +2

Will you be happy with $326?
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/323631

      • Only if they put this price tag on their ebay listing when code is active, wishful thinking.

        • You can buy at this price right now. Click the link.

        • +1

@grababargain: i think jayzee meant. Shopmonk have it at $326 on ebay. Then when active use a discount code for a further 20% off.

        • @xoom: that's the Q25. Q25 is at $438

        • @evolution-flip:

          QC35 is $326 here now.

Bose QC35 Headphones $326 Delivered (SG) @ Shopmonk
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/323631

Jayzee looks like wants this price plus a further 20% off. Yes wishful thinking indeed.

        • @xoom: Yes, he wanted 20% off on top so it's going to be at the $438 price.

        • @evolution-flip: where are you getting this $438 from?

Percentage off mean price should goes down not up.

        • @xoom: Didn't mean $438 is the final price. 20% off on $438 = $350.40 is the final price currently from their eBay store.

        • @evolution-flip: jayzee wants $326 as the price on ebay. Then use 20% off code. Wishful thinking i know but its free to dream.

As for $350 final price. Still not low enough. We need more $299 final price once more.

I mean shopmonk is selling the qc35 on their website for $327. So why buy in the ebay sale to end up paying $350.

        • @xoom: I did not propose anyone buying from their eBay store - just showing using the code on their eBay store doesn't make sense. To be honest, I don't even remember what we are talking about anymore :)

        • @evolution-flip: this is a thread about upcoming ebay sale. Someone wants the best price for qc35.

Historical lowest price was $299. Jayzee wants a piece for that price. TBH. So do i.

  • Current eBay offer things price jack by 20% > Father's Day another 20% remind me when it doubles.

  • +11

Maybe we should redo a list of sellers that DOSE NOT JACKED up the prices… For those who does.. put aside and ignore them. Any suggestions on a true discount from these sellers in the past that you know of?? lol

  • Goodie… looking for decent price on g1w-cb dash cam hopefully.

    Perhaps a watch?

So any actual bargains? Or just more mindless upvoting?

    • +30

So any actual bargains? Or just more mindless upvoting?

So any useful comments? Or just more useless anti-ebay-sale circlejerk clan gathering remarks?

To answer your question because you clearly don't do any searching on your own, here are some of the known stores that don't jack up prices before a sale:
dell_australia (awesome for monitors, or xps laptops)
futu_online (same as shopping express, ordered one item from each store, both had Shopping Express branding on the box)
      houseonline (homewares)
      kitchen_warehouse (homewares)
      knives-online (homewares)
      pc.byte (computer parts)
      robins.kitchen.offical (homewares)
shopping-express-clearance (Very fast postage, apparently terrible for warranty, if you buy anything here, make sure the product has good manufacturer warranty service)

Pre-discount some of their items are not the market leading prices, but usually after the 20% off they are.

Anyone that says they got misled by this sale (because they saw 20% off and didn't do their homework), should be stripped of their OzBargain membership. They definitely don't deserve the Badge of Professionals..

      • +5

Except some of them stores do pricejack especially futu.

        • -2

Some items I'm sure they will, some stores I'm sure pricejacking will happen. I've always bought routers from them (futu/SE) during ebay 20% off sales and its cheaper using staticice to search for other prices.
Generally for comp parts prices, eBay prices compared to non ebay prices aren't the best as they tend to factor in ebay fees. Realistically, expect 5-10% discount off the cheapest price when you compare 20%ebaysale prices to staticeice prices.

Remember that ebay has listing and seller fees ontop of card fees and delivery costs, where as staticice cheapest is usually cash only and not inclusive of delivery costs.

As always, do your own research.
Also, instead of making useless comments about price jacking, make formal complaints with ACCC.
Start watching items you're interested and check when the sale has started.

        • +1

          Exactly cwongtech has no idea.

Pretty sure futu just jacked up the price on a monitor I was looking at everywhere else 199, futu jacked to 235 http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/Acer-G257HL-25-LED-LCD-Computer-Mon…

        • +1

          @bti_jet: $235 x 80% = $188. So Futu is still cheaper than everywhere else…

        • @bti_jet:
$188 delivered on ebay via futu.
Static ice showing $198 as cash price, delivery fee not included.

If you look at the purchase history..
You can see Futu has always sold it for $240, and reduced it to $235 somewhere between 28th of June and 17th of July..

          Exactly cwongtech has no idea.

Check the evidence. It's not Futu that's price jacking, it's that they've always sold it for higher.. on the 1st, 18th and 19th of August there are purchases recorded at $235.

        • -1

          @Sike O:

It's cheaper not by 20%, only 5% cheaper. Such a hyped up sale for a mere 5% discount. Meh

        • -4

          @cwongtech:

Big deal about delivery, don't you have legs to walk into a store.

          @bti_jet:

Big deal about delivery, don't you have legs to walk into a store.

Cost of your time to do that? Cost of travel? Do you know where I can get free petrol, car, or public transport? Don't forget ebay price allows you to pay with card, the cheapest prices on staticice usually have a 1-2% fee for paying by card.

Generally for comp parts prices, eBay prices compared to non ebay prices aren't the best as they tend to factor in ebay fees. Realistically, expect 5-10% discount off the cheapest price when you compare 20%ebaysale prices to staticeice prices. - Cwongtech

I said that in my comments before you!

It's cheaper not by 20%, only 5% cheaper. Such a hyped up sale for a mere 5% discount. Meh

I agree with you, it's still technically cheaper though.
What I don't agree is that Futu has pricejacked your monitor
They never sold it for cheaper, so they aren't price jacking.
I provided you proof that your statement is incorrect about your accusation of price jacking.

I wonder how the sellers are selected to be included… There was a seller (eglobalcentral-au) that was on one of these 20% if deal earlier this year that I'm waiting for them to be back on but they haven't been since…..

I'm hoping they get back into the ebay good books soon….

    • Or is it whether sellers agree to be included.

      • do sellers have to fork out the 20% discount? i thought it's eBay's pre-amazon big spend to get everyone going on eBay…. maybe they share the discount between the seller and eBay….

        • Shared I believe. Why else would they raise prices?

        • @wxyz234: because they can :p but it makes sense for them to be shared

    • I was hoping they would too, because I want to buy headphones from them… Contacted them about this now.

      • interested in the response you get….. hopefully they get back on to one of these sales again soon……

        • They told me it is not for them to decide. Ebay assigns the participating stores.
