Frequent Flyer Notes

British Airways is a member of the Oneworld Alliance (like Qantas is) and its Frequent Flyer program is called Executive Club, which is free to join and you can find more information on it here.

Flying with Premium Economy (T Class) earns 7,832 avios and 180 tier points. Flying Business Class (R Class) earns 11,748 Avios and 280 tier points. The minimum amount required for a one-way Economy class redemption is 4,000 Avios (London – Paris). Alternatively you can credit your miles to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program. Doing this on the same route flying Business nets you 10,000 points and 120 status credits, with the minimum points required for a one-way economy redemption being 8,000 points.

This is the first time I am posting a business class/premium economy deal here. Just testing the waters so please go easy on me!

  • What are the 'normal' prices for these flights?

Singapore looks to be $2282 looking at 14-23 Nov

      • There's a listing here that expired yesterday for $315 return SIN airfares for Oct & Nov. Regular economy though:

        • I was just looking for like for like pricing for premium economy

Ozbargainers only fly Bargain Economy Class.

    • OzBargainers fly in premium cabins too (using points generated for free ;-)). Christmas holiday this year is Tokyo flying JAL business class for points plus $200 tax.

      • -1

You could have done a lot more traveling if you'd have used your points in economy. Not as big a boast of course….

        • There was no economy available (given proximity to Christmas/New Year's, I only business). Also, I still have over 1 million points to spend so plenty more travel to come.

        • @Yapapi:

          Nice!

    that's a bargain?

scoot $99 fares are a bargain

  • I used British airways first class last year. It was the poor equivalent of business class with most airlines. I can only assume premium class is terrible. Rubbish airline!

      Rubbish airline!

I thought you only flew Airforce One now, Donald?

My hair and me fly separately. My hair Travels with Airforce One.

Id use the extra grand to stay at The Sands for 2 nights and food. Fly Singapore airline. Better service for 700

Feedback received. Obviously no interest in business class/premium economy fares on ozbargain. I will just post economy class ones from now on. As mentioned this was just a trial to gauge interest.😊

I think you got the wrong idea. Business class tickets when discounted well are very popular… see these deals

I think most ozbargainers complaints are BA is rubbish so you're paying an expensive price for a subpar airline

    • I think people are interested I just think you chose the wrong route. A few years ago there was a ripper deal premium economy virgin to Los Angeles that was popular on ozbargain. Scootbiz is probably similar to British airways and much cheaper

    • Nooo I'm interested in hearing about J/Y+ fares!

    • @emirates777 I personally want to look for decent business class deals to Europe (from Melbourne) but they are hard to find. Please keep posting

      • Bookmark the site mentioned above or join the mailing list. I try and post a couple a week, but as mentioned they are not easy to find.

      • See my reply below. Best thing is to visit the site. I don't tend to post much on ozbargain as I used to. Only because there is not as much incentive to do so.

  • So Its One way?
I flew ScootBiz for $475 SIN->SYD in June

Most of the time PE isn't worth the cost. On sale it's usually twice the Y fare, but often it's around 3 times the price which is a total rip off for the small amount of extra space you get.

PE can be worth if using miles as usually the cost increase is not too high, but then you might as well try to get a J seat if you have the miles.

I have unfortunately flown premium economy with British Airways - it was awful, worse than economy on any decent airline. Would never fly with them again.

I don't underestand anyone paying to fly anything other than budget economy. Don't get me wrong, I love comfort, and often fly luxury on redemptions. However when paying, the difference in price versus the number of hours, cannot be justified. Especially with all of the poverty in the world. If tempted, then fly budget economy and give half of the difference to a charity. And it could even be tax deductible.

Depends on the circumstances. I flew SYD-LHR and went straight to the office for a full day's work upon arrival. That would not have been possible if I had gone economy or worse still, budget economy..

  • tERRIBLE DEAL

  • IT'S JUST A COUPLE OF HOURS SIR

  • Air travel technology is mind blowing to me. They could douse me in benzine and strap me naked to the wing if it meant I got to fly - even on this deal :-D
