Continuum is a nice feature too that only Samsung have offered a recent alternative for Android users. Iris scanner is another interesting feature.. The screen is still nice compared with some other flagships. And it offered a replaceable battery, which is another awesome feature missing on a lot of newer phones. It does suffer from the same issues as the old nexus 6p, that crappy snapdragon 810. However I haven't heard of the boot looping issues on the 950s like on the nexus phones in that generation. It runs w10m, and that's a pretty huge negative for most people too.
The pixel is undoubtedly an awesome phone. My negatives against it are the price, and those huge bezels. The price wouldn't be that hard to justify if Google offered longer support (like Apple does) than the old nexus program. The big selling points are updates and the camera. At this point we are almost a generation in to its life too. That means one major update after Android o (should get Android P) and then 12 months of security updates. I would expect that the htc 11 (suppose offer similar quality camera if not better) and s8 would eventually get Android P too. If you aren't in a rush for the latest updates, those phones offer newer hardware, and other features that might sway some for not much more money.
