I think from the wording ("for up to 4 people") you can use it for another person.
I'm no lawyer but my understanding is that when these sorts of disputes hit the courts that it comes down to what an ordinary person (or most people) would assume it to mean.
I think MOST people assume that the offer for the second game free means that its free for the second game that the first person plays. If you play a first game then someone else plays a second game then its still the first game that they play….I'd assume
I'm not sure how up to four people can play a second game.
The wording doesn't say "buy one get the NEXT one free"…. it says the SECOND one.
Standard rule in bowling centres is that the "free" game is for the person that paid for it.
"Up To 4 people" means that using one voucher, if 4 people pay for 1 game each then they all get a free second game. Strictly speaking, if you have 5 people then only 4 would get a free 2nd game.There are a few independant centres out there that would allow you to buy one game for yourself and have a friend bowl the "second" game, with just the charge of an extra pair of shoes. AMF however would not do that.
As a side note, the majority of independant centres will honour AMF vouchers if you take them in, saves travelling if there's one closer!
