  • Did you receive the SMS with the code? If so, does it look generic? ;)

  • How do I get the SMS code? Do I need to register somewhere?

  • I've only received one SMS for $20 this year and that was in February. Now it's July and not received anything. I'm meant to get 3 a year.

How does one become a Concierge Member with The Good Guys?

I tried at Harvey Normans once, but
One does not simply walk into Harvey Norman
Its Black Gates are guarded by more than just anti-theft alarms. There is evil there that does not sleep, and the Great Eye of Harvey Norman is ever watchful. It is a barren wasteland, riddled with fire and ash and dust, the very air you breathe is a poisonous fume.

    Thanks.

Buy their 'extended warranty' when you purchase a product, which is now called Concierge service.

  • Generic codes? How do we sign up for the service?

    • Nope, not generic codes. You buy something from GGs, and pay extra for a 2-year extended warranty, then you become a 'Concierge Member'. Thereafter, you will get 3 x $20 codes SMSd to your phone per year FOR THREE YEARS, if I remember correctly. At the end of last year I bought a $30 product, and paid an extra $20 to become a C-member. Sure enough, first $20 credit 'rolled in' in Feb 2017 (that's my $20 back, kinda). I got this SMS today too, but my SMS begins with the text 'Here is your $20 Concierge credit of $20 … (etc.), so I'm not sure what the OP is on about re 'mnaybe it's additional to C-credit'…

Anyways, if you live near a GGs, I reckon it's a worthwhile thing to do. You can spend an extra $20 or $30 for a 2-year extended (includes 'replacement') warranty on something, then you will receive three credits per year for 3 years amounting to a total of $180 clams. If their range was limited, or their products were overpriced it would not be a good deal, but neither of those things are the case. Only downfall is that the codes only last for about 4 days, so if you're out of the country or something you might be out of luck/not receive the SMS until you return home (they don't send an email as well; just an SMS). That said, you can use the codes online, they don't have to be used in-store.

  • their previous email voucher expires in a week or two, not worth the trouble…

  • I just got my sms "Here is your $20 Concierge store credit OR spend $300 on a single transaction now & exchange this $20 for a $60 store credit from The Good Guys to use next month. Code TYXXXXXXXXXXX PIN XXXX. Exp 31/07/2017. For terms: https/toolazytocopy. To cancel benefits UNSUB to XXXXXX"

So the text says to use next month (August), but expires in 5 days -_-

I'm supposed to get it too but nothing. :(

      • I'm supposed to get it too but nothing. :(

I think there has been a screw-up or two at the GGs end. I was wondering when my 2nd credit for the year would crash through, so I checked the Concierge website and saw something about the second credit for the year having been issued at the start of July/expiring on July 4th. I rang them, told them I had received no SMS, and they said they'd look into it. Today I received this SMS. I suggest ringing them (ph. 1300 765 988).

        • Is everyone meant to get them at the same time?

    • So the text says to use next month (August), but expires in 5 days -_-

You are not reading the message correctly. Note the 'OR' in the message. It means that if you choose to, you can make a purchase of $300 or more using this $20 code before it expires within the 5 days, and if you decide to do that, do that, then NEXT MONTH you will get another $60 store credit.

It is a slightly wordy message, granted, but IMHO it is not misleading. It pretty clearly implies what I have explained above.

    got my sms

  • I figured out the reason I didn't get my credit.

I called up and they told me I had opted out of marketing material, which included the SMS for $20 credits. I'm mad now, because I thought it would only be email that I opted out of, but it included SMS offers, such as the $20 credit. So I just threw $20 away.

The spam they were sending me was so excessive and unhelpful I thought I had no choice but to opt out. They didn't make it clear you would also give up your $20 credits.

They couldn't give me back what I lost either.
