If I was in the market for a 13" ultrabook, I'd look at the XPS13. I've seen deals on the Dell Outlet for as low as $949 for the current model, and regularly around the $1100. Far superior build, form factor and Kaby lake.
it will not have 512gb SSD like this one
SSD is the one thing that is super easy to upgrade
@atlas: of course but your dollar comparison does not account for this.
@ozdesi: if you want to list all the differences then by all means please do so
@atlas: for fair comparison there is a difference of at least $500 between these laptops with factory installed SSD and about $350 with BYO SSD upgrade.
I am tempted. My laptop is oldish.
But…
the thought of finding my old software files and re-installing all the software I use is unappealing! Is there an easy way to transfer everything from an old PC to a new PC these days?
image mirror has been around both those and these days
buy laptop now worry about that later
The Intel Graphics stopped me.
Out of stock.
110 sold.. ozbargained! JW has a lot of posting to do now.
You can say that again! The warehouse guys will be surprised on Monday when they pickup the post list!
hi, missed the deal, any chance to have another sale for this one recently?
Hi jydww -not at this current time unfortunately, as supplier doesn't have sufficient stock to make a deal! However, we know these spec Ultrabooks are in demand, so it shouldn't be too much longer before we manage to secure another similar deal!
anyone other recommendations for a budget ultrabook given this is out of stock?
Xiaomi air seems like a killer
mine arrived in the mail today :)
Toll just delivered mine too :)
Thoughts?
Absolutely loving it. Build quality is far better than I expected. 512GB SSD & backlit KB are real bonuses at this price :)
I'm well chuffed with mine too, build quality is better than I thought it would be and perfect for what I need it for (512gb was non negotiable). Not noticed the fans either but agree the bezels are a bit big. Not massively bothered though as it's saved me over 800 bucks on a similar spec machine I was going to buy, thanks again ;)
just got mine too.
was looking into how to best get rid of the bloatware and learned about the Windows 10 Fresh Start tool:http://au.pcmag.com/windows-10/44187/news/how-to-clean-up-wi…
Haven't run it yet, but potentially removes some Acer specific drivers that you'll have to re-install
Meh…Still waiting for mine to turn up. Got notification it's shipped but I don't think it has left yet…
This arrived this morning
The bevels are massive lol
Loud fans too

Thanks for this! Just had a play on one at Harvey Norman - it is definitely bang for buck at this price, however I also noted the flaws you've mentioned. The screen flex is very noticeable (hinges were also quite stiff) - and I was also able to use my fingernail to start separating the screen from the plastic shell…
The zenbook next to the Acer had much better build quality, time to start hunting around for a good deal!
