Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series [Blu-Ray] [2009] AUD $172.40 Inc Shipping

20

Only AUD $172.40 expedited shipping included (to Sydney) for complete series, which includes all 4 seasons, plus Razor as well as The Plan (the movie). The only thing NOT included in this box set are the webisodes, which IMO is quite irrelevant anyway. This is the new version of Battlestar Galactica, not the old one from 1978.

Please note that at the checkout shipping is quoted as:

Standard International Shipping (averages 30-40 weeks)
Expedited International Shipping (averages 7-14 weeks)
Priority International Courier (averages 3-7 business days)

This however is a mistake and an error. I e-mailed them about this and they confirmed that those shipping times are incorrect and correct shipping times are:

Standard International Shipping (averages 10-12 weeks)
Expedited International Shipping (averages 2-4 weeks)
Priority International Courier (averages 3-7 business days)

That was also confirmed at the checkout screen where it estimated delivery date to be 05 November 2010, which was then also confirmed in an order confirmation e-mail i received from them shortly after i ordered it.

Good deal IMO considering this is the only box set which contains just about everything related to BSG and all other box sets cost well and truly above AUD $200+ and none contains the movie and most don't include Razor either.

To all you bleeding hearts who critisized the deal from Amazon.co.uk which ended up to be a pricing mistake, here is a proof that some of those orders were honored and some people have received their BSG box sets for just over 10 pounds:

Note: These are Region A. We are in Region B. Region free BluRay players are very rare, so if you don't know if you have one, you probably don't.

The UK is Region B, just like us, so it's probably a better choice for cheap BluRays.

They are actually Region Free. It is US release, but they are Region Free as was the previous box set of this series, the one with the Cyclone figure included in the box set.
While it doesn't say that on the product description, people have mentioned this in their reviews.
Also, plenty of these are being sold by Australian sellers on eBay and all of them clearly indicate that it is Region Free.

      • Ok, thanks.

Is there a single site that lists the region status of BluRays?

        • I've been using this site for quite a while when I'm not sure about Region of something and it has served me quite well thus far. It is always up to date and so far has never disappointed me.

Errmmm, didn't you read the rest of the post?

  • I got this for 20 bucks a few weeks ago…. ;)

    • Hence my comments and the link in the last paragraph above.
I know some people have received it as per screen shot above. Good on ya if you were one of the lucky ones.

    • I assumed you did not get the cancellation notice? I wonder why they decide to honor some order and not other.

      • Maybe they are the first few to order?

    • +2

I was just taking the #$@@ no-one got that deal :)

      • That's not true, I got it… and I'm expecting it to turn up the same time as my COTD PS3 :p

  • I just did a quick test order at Amazon.ca, Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com.

Including the cheapest air delivery (ie standard) converted in AUD$ the prices worked out to:
    $158.64 Amazon.ca (CAD$157.97)
    $152.91 Amazon.co.uk (£93.91)
    $208.63 Amazon.com (US$201.47)

So it looks like the UK is still the cheaper option.

    • The UK release doesn't include the movie though. It also doesn't include webisodes and I'm not sure about mini-episodes, Razor. It definitely doesn't include The Plan.
Besides that, it doesn't look anywhere near as good as the US release, but that my personal opinion. :)

      • In that case, the CA version is the better deal.

Does the CA version have French all over the packaging? Whenever I got Canadian DVDs they always had both French and English on the packaging, which tended to spoil the design.

I've spent the last 15 minutes trying to find a comparison of the BluRay version (UK vs CA vs US) but came up empty.

  • I bought this box set months and months ago when it was first made $150, it has stayed at that price for a long time…
I've watched all of it and can confirm it is region free. This is still the best box set to date considering the design and content of the box. There is no French on it. It includes Razor and the movie The Plan.
