OP it would be really helpful if the description mentioned your coverage areas, since this is not an NBN-based offer that's available nationwide.

For those who are curious, coverage appears to be metro Adelaide and Melbourne, coverage map here: https://unitiwireless.com/uniti-coverage-map/

    • The coverage is not that good tho.

  • The plans mention a installation fee, how does that work ?

In this case with the free trial, the T&C's say that the install fee will be charged after the free trial if you decide to keep the service. It's just added to your bill

      • Okay as long as it's "just added to the bill" we don't need to be concerned with how much it is.

        • The cost is stated in the link and that wasn't the commenters question.

I've had Uniti for about a year now and it's great. Have the Raptor so it's 50/10, and you get that 24/7, there is no congestion. They also have really great support which is 100% Adelaide Based. Makes dealing with them really easy. The owner and staff are really active on Whirlpool, threads ADL MEL. Would highly recommend.

  • Does anyone will actually physically come to our house and install the modem, etc ? And what if I keep my existing internet plan and can I still use this Uniti on the top of existing one ?

They need to install a 'dish' (it's not exactly a dish but their website explains if you're really interested) to receive the wireless service from their tower, run a cable down the wall and terminate it with a plate in the wall that's used to get power up to the 'dish' and to plug the network cable into the router.

Assuming you have the right gear you could have both this and your existing internet plan but how you manage that is up to you, the intent of the Uniti solution is to replace your existing internet connection/plan with theirs. I kept my ADSL service for a week or two after having Uniti installed and configured my router (a Ubiquiti USG3 not supplied by Uniti) to use the Uniti connection as my primary internet access and the old ADSL service as a 'failover' if there were problems with the Uniti connection.

I didn't have any problems so I cancelled ADSL.

Uniti arrived in my area (Mordialloc, VIC) a few months ago and I can also vouch for their excellent customer service and for the fact they deliver the speeds they say (50Mbps/10Mbps in my case).

A couple of very professional, very pleasant engineers came to the house, put the 'dish' on the roof and plugged in the supplied router making sure everything worked fine. I did have to contact customer support shortly after the install as I wasn't able to connect back to home via my VPN and they resolved a configuration issue on their side very quickly for me.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Uniti service.

  • What are the ongoing costs?

I used to have Uniti Wireless at my last address. Fast stable connection and good support.

  • Shame its not even planned in my area… :(

  • Do I have to buy the modem? What happens to it if I terminate the trial?

    • +1

No modem required, all equipment is contained on the antenna mast and you just plug a PC or router into the lan port installed.

Have been with Uniti for over 12 months now and very happy. No congestion experienced ever and any unplanned downtime could have been measured in hours, not days or weeks like some fixed line services encounter.

  • No 250GB plan :(
Uniti vs nuskope which one better? Anyone been with nuskope please share your experience
