Important: Sign up to Digital subscription only as this gives the cashback.

To get the $1 for 28 day subscription, sign into either Cashrewards or Pricepal and click through to Herald Sun.

I have linked Cashrewards, as the cashback is $20.

With the varying levels of Pricepal cashback, it may be better going through them. They range from $17.50 to $31.50.

Going through either of the cashback sites will give you the $1 subscription offer, so cannot just link to Herald Sun site.

      Actually saves me time as it also gives Supercoach Gold and Live Supercoach scores for about 2 months as it takes them ages to cancel it.

    does the casrewards plugin interferes with tracking through pricepal? I used pricepal as it offered me $31.50 cashback. I clicked on activate later for the cashrewards when it popped up … but no tracking with pricepal :(

      Hmmm, only took 2 days for mine to show up, but I ordered it before I posted this deal. I would think they had a lot of subscriptions in a short period of time, maybe it will take a little while to show up?
      From Pricepal site: You will receive an email from PricePal to advise your cashback has been recorded, usually within 24 hours of your purchase (but it may take up to 7 days)

    Just called to cancel subscription. The girl wasn't happy and she was trying to keep me signed up for a paper delivery to my home address. Never again.

    Called up to cancel today. Given the run around to stay. Eventually they agreed to cancel.Pity they dont have a cancel button. I suppose this is why they give it to you for $1 . I live in a high rise apartment with no way of getting a paper delivered. She told me that the delivery person will come up in the lift and slide it under my door. Yes right! In Sydney that is laughable. More like throw it from the delivery van into the garden area of one of the tenants on the ground floor and say it is delivered.

    Looks like they start charging next payment earlier then I thought. Got this email this morning:

    Your subscription payment for your credit card ending in 123 has been declined. To avoid any interruption to your subscription, you will need to amend your credit card details.

    well I boo booed, I thought it was a resubscription in 1 month, got charged $28 a few days ago, only 2 weeks after signing up

    will cancel tomorrow,

    either i didnt read the T/Cs properly or they early charged

      they charged early - a sneaky trick
      I signed up on the 21st july and they tried to charge me on the 11th August but I used a prepaid card with $1 on it so they didn't get their intended $28.
      Pretty cheeky trick with a $1 per 28 days promotion. Its designed to catch a lot of people which another 28 days at the full price

        I just called up and cancelled it effective immeidately,

        Apparently the T&Cs say up to 5 days before to process payment,
        they said they couldnt refund once processed
        so I said cancel it now,

        they asked why am I cancelleing, I replied, because I dont appreciate getting charged 5 days early and not be able to get a refund for a service that hasnt started yet

        Lesson learnt, I played the cashback game, and lost oh well,

        i suspect I wont get the cashback,

      yeah got rip off not aware of cancel to subscription from paypal. called them up not willing to refund because it on terms call to cancel before 7days. so if pricepal not getting cashback from 3 of our accounts will lost $87 for this deal.

      totally lost this time if cashback not comming and our pricepal it is still as record mode.

        yes I was told the same thing. not happy lost $25. what if we claim a paypal refund since we've been charged but haven't received our next months subscription yet? or do a credit card charge back will it work or will they vote in their favour of them because of their sneaky t/c? or well whats their rewards on their website about can you get any discounted gift cards? so my subscription will expire on 15th sept now but pricepal payout is in oct? will I still get my $31.50?

          I have kind of condemn defeats on whether we can get money back from them. But I am curious who can we voice concern if we have unhappy experience about this issue? I mean ombudsman … from news media companies?

          Anyway, worst case I take it in and move on. Typically subscription trap when we should read more on OB comments on this treads about canceling on paypal account. There is still a good chance $31.50 cashback can happen which heal the pain from loses. How do you get $24 anyway? they all $28 to my sign up system

          @leehungfei: got charged $1 on 21 july and now 24$. im going to try a paypal dispute since never got what they charged yet until next month and a complaint to fair trading wouldn't go unwarranted. wish i went via cash rewards instead and cancelled via paypal earlier

    I signed up on 21 July and cancelled on 7 Aug. Didn't get charged. Got my $20 cashrewards, so all good for me.
