These laptops might not be 'balls to the walls' in terms of specifications but the Lenovo T-series is well known for it's rugged reliability and build quality. The two best picks are the T470 and T470s which are rarely found on store shelves and are normally only sold through online channels. They feature spill-resistant backlit keyboards, and modern ports like multiple USB3.0 ports with charging features and a USB type-C port that is Thunderbolt enabled
There is also a T470P, a performance oriented model that gives you a Core i5-7300HQ that is a big improvement over the standard Dual Core i5-7200U, but you'll be paying a huge price premium for that. It is worth mentioning though the battery in this is one 6 cell while the T470s and T470 has dual 3 cell batteries.
The T470P performance model also packs a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce 940MX 2GB GDRR5 graphics chipset and it does not do Thunderbolt.
