A lot of conditions to this. I understand that its to protect their ass but really, it makes people going there feel like they're begging for food and not the customers.

$2.50 for any meat left on the bone? Really? Are they going to count through all your food and bill you extra for leaving food? Wow! Even if i were in Sydney and this was free i dont think i would take it up!

    • LOL!

Honestly, I would recommend Nick's Bar & Grill which is not far away at King St Wharf. On Sunday and Monday after 6pm they have an all-you-can-eat menu for $25.50 and their ribs are equal to, or better than Tony Roma's in my opinion — plus you have seafood options as well.

We've tried both Tony Roma's and Nick's and vowed never to return to Tony Roma's after a coupon debacle 18 months ago (we had to get the manager to come to the dining room because the staff would not honour a perfectly valid coupon).

Nick's wins, hands-down. Cheaper, better food, more variety, no ridiculous conditions, plus a harbour view!

    • There're some mixed reviews on Eatability for Nick's..I know this is a Tony Roma's post, but just wondering whether you've been there recently? Or should I expect random quality? XD

We've been there three times this year and have had good service on each occasion. As far as I know, this promotion is only at Nick's Bar & Grill (King Street Wharf) and not at Nick's Seafood Restaurant (Cockle Bay) — the two restaurants are only about 5 minutes walk apart.

    • Thanks for the info!

I'm so gonna try out Nick's next time when I'm in the city.. sounds pretty good to me. =)

  • i just realised
they put chips on the plate and u can only get another if u clean out the plate along with the chips right?
so basically filling u up with chips…i really hate chips. unhealthy and filling. i notice nicks is like that too judging from that pamphlet. if thats so then its a real neg from me.

rather buy 5kgs of ribs and cook it myself

    • Chips are optional at Nick's. Just ask them for whatever you like from the all-you-can-eat menu and they will bring it out.

just chucks the chips on the floor and let them clean it up after.

after seeing these abusive conditions, I wouldn't go there with or without coupon.

I'd like to see the staff look at each rib and see if there is any miniscule amount of meat left on the rib and charge you $2.50

Very bad service. I vowed never to return to Tony Romas after having waited 90 minutes for my meal.

  • Tony Romas have really gone down hill over the past few years.

  • +1

    Overrated and overpriced ribs.

  • +1

even for free,i will never try them again.

  • +3

Very uninviting with all those conditions. Do they provide a cheat sheet or do you have to memorize all that?

  • +1

Sounds like the soup nazi. Idiots who make rules like that deserve to get no business.
They should remember they are in the hospitality industry.

  • I'm quite surprised they have so many conditions!
I agree with SmiTTy's post. We used to go to Tony Roma's for ribs, but when Hurricanes opened at Darling Harbour, we went there instead and it's heaps better.

I've been to Tony Roma's twice and both times the food was ordinary and the service was s***house (they treated us like numbered cattle and the staff were barely one step up from McDonalds staff).

    Will never return.

On top of this I prefer the ribs at Meat and Wine Co anyway, which is also close by. You get what you pay for. Plus decent restaurants give you massive ribs plates for your money - I have never left a ribs plate from a decent ribs restaurant feeling hungry, so "all you can eat ribs" is a bit pointless if you go somewhere decent.

  • They actually expect people to go there for these conditions, weird.

  • Neg for me …

A non-sense and ridiculous term and conditions .. I don't think I will be enjoying my meal having the staff watch over my meat leftover on the bone..

  • is this place run by some communist regime ?

  • Wow… a massive backlash against TonyRoma's :)!!! i guess, this could be an interesting case study for marketing student!

  • +3

Can the guy who did that cotd hitler video do one for Tony romas as well. Haha

  • this place is getting smashed lol - totally owned…

neg for 'A surcharge of $2.50 per bone when there is meat left on the riblets.'

  • seven eagles spur at erina used to have $20 all you can eat ribs, but they closed down the day i went there. does anyone know if silver spur at penrith or mustang spur at liverpool do it? or if you know any others from the "spur" chain

  • "A surcharge of $2.50 per bone when there is meat left on the riblets"

um, what about the obvious, what if you take a bite and don't like the taste or it's not cooked properly? being force fed is the last thing you want to happen at a restaurant!
