People buying goods, especially clothing, please be aware of Catch's refund policy.
They don't give refunds for 'change of mind' items like other companies. You can exchange or refund for store credit, with either a $25 or 20% restocking fee. You can argue this under ACCC to get a cash refund but it'd be a headache. I've been down this path and even though it was for a faulty item, it was a nightmare to try and get my money back.
"Change of mind" refunds are not really covered by Australian consumer guidelines.
On the other hand, you have the right to choose from a cash refund, repair or replacement if the item you have purchased has a major fault. Remember it is your choice, and don't listen to any retailer telling you otherwise. If they give you grief, you should lodge a complaint with the ACCC, and forward it to the relevant store.
No store is legally obligated to give refunds or exchanges for change of mind. Any store that does is doing out of goodwill, not because it's your right. Nothing to argue under ACCC.
60-90% off the 60-90% they add to prices.
Eg; Roald Dahl 15 book Collection - average price $69.99 on Google shopping. Advertised on Catch for "Don't pay $179.99, only $69.99, save $110!"
If you shop anywhere else you already "don't pay" their extortionate amounts.
I stopped buying from them. They became greedy and transformed from a bargain site of great products to a dollar shop. I am a catch club membership for two years already. No real value added to the bargain purchase from my membership subscription. I haven't purchased anything since the start of my 2nd year membership. I DO NOT recommend anyone pay for the membership.
IIRC, the only real value provided by Club Catch membership is free delivery for orders over $50.00.
You can sign up to Club Catch (on a 30 day trial), and then cancel before 30 days.I haven't tried this, but I suppose you can re-sign up using a different email address for another 30-day trial?
Your assumption is there is a product to buy. To my point, there is no good product to buy. If there is (and sometimes there is for sure), price won't be much cheaper than everywhere else.
Need to use different credit card as well.
@AussieGargain: Only occasionally, there are good bargains to be had at COTD.
Speaking of which, does anyone know if the following office chair can be bought cheaper elsewhere?
8-Point Massage Racing Office Chair - Black/Red $179 AUD + Shipping@DoctorCalculon: https://www.crazysales.com.au/online-high-back-gaming-office…
I think its same chair
@jag007: Looks almost the same, minus the 8-point massage function. Only about $10 cheaper.
Plus + postage.
Seems like it's their normal prices as I have been tracking a few items. It's just grouped all together and labelled as 60-90% off to make it seem like a sale.
Check if an item you want is on their eBay store and use one of the eBay codes
Any bargains?
