Minecraft is a sandbox game which allows players to build constructions out of textured cubes in a 3D world.
It is currently in alpha and already very popular. If you purchase it now, you get all future updates for free. When the beta version is released, it will increase in price.

Overloaded. It's popularity has exploded in the past couple of days. The site was offline over the weekend so the developer ran a 'free' weekend for people to trial it.

You just mine - just dig downwards until you hit a dungeon, where there will be enemies and also plenty of mineral ores you can get).
You can also craft tools, weapons and other sorts of blocks. When night falls, you also wanna make sure you stay out of the darkness and have a shelter to hide in. Preferably a hollowed out cave or just a hole in the ground, it's all up to you. Watch this video on how to survive your first night.
Currently there are no objectives in Alpha, but in future releases, Notch (the game dev) there will be new game modes which add missions and such into the gameplay to make it more interesting.

To all wondering, there is no point to this game…. but it is strangely addictive. Got onto it after watching the review on good game, the graphics are shit (in a good way) but when has good graphics made a good game. Its game play that counts and for a reason i cant explain this game just oozes with it. Give it a try everyone, its games like this the world needs more of.
I reckon the guy that slapped this together is going to be too busy driving around in his Lambo to bother doing any more codeing . It's a very strange maarketing model that requires you to have a lot of faith in this dude to come good with his promises of an eventually polished game with a plot and goal . I would of thought the best bet for this game would be for someone with a few more resources to take it over . Still it's only $14 and a tiny download . Good luck .
um, he might be waiting a while before he can spend that money, the rumor is that he racked up over $1 million so quickly that paypal got suspicious and froze his account…
From what I've read, he's already sorted it out. He's got a blog with some more details, including the fact that he's jet-setting across the globe at the moment.. Poor guy. :P
