Sutton Forest Meats, $100 off Orders over $299

230
BLUES

Time to stock up again… Get in there now and order!

I found these guys here on previous bargains, and their meats are awesome.

Now even more awesome with a $100 discount on $300+ orders (so basically 33% off).

ie Chicken Breast (free range) allowing for discount, about $12kg. I ordered 2kg :)
Also got a few kilos of rump (steaks packaged in easy freezer bags for quick access portions).
And their bacon… holy crap.
It's not that crap you get from the supermarket. It caramelizes like nothing else you've tasted… try a small pack and see for yourself. Mmmmmm…. bacon.

Thanks SFMW!!

Wow, I never knew meat was so expensive. Why don't you guys just give us cheaper prices every day instead of the $100 discount. If it can be done for the larger order it can always be done.

So you don't normally do the shopping then :) ?

Trust me mate, this is cheap.

Don't be scared off by the pricing when buying in bulk. You can actually save a lot of cash. Free range chicken breast is NEVER $12 a kilo, so the fact they are offering such a huge discount is a good thing! People normally jump on it at Coles for $16. You can't expect them to always sell for $12… they aren't a charity ;).

Have you considered that smaller orders take the same amount of time to process, pack and send? Have you thought the larger volume orders generally mean cheaper prices? From what I see the OP isn't associated with Sutton Forest so there is little chance they will see your comments anyhow.

    The bacon is amazing!

      omg yes!

I first tried these guys earlier in the year on this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/292716 (182 votes, ozbargained), and I never knew bacon could be this good. A little oil on the pan and it turns out beautiful. Same cooking style with the supermarket brands and it just dries out and burns. There's just no comparing them.

      • +1

Totally agree. Probably the best bacon I've ever had.

I've ordered from Suttons a couple of times now. Well worth it imo plus it's supporting a local business.

  • Thanks OP - sometimes it's nice to get some good stuff instead of the cheapo whatever-is-on-markdown stuff at the supermarkets.

    Cheers!

  • I can vouch for their meat being superior quality. Ordered some via OzB during last deal & yes, excellent quality.

Does a code need to be entered for the $100 off because I'm at the PayPal stage and still showing $324

    • +2

Did you try the code "BLUES" as per the OP?

      • At the checkout screen before it sends you to Paypal. Right hand side I think. Should come off. I ordered like $315 or something and it instantly came down before going to paypal

  • How does the meat come? Is it vac packed with a long expiry? Or does it need to go in the freezer straight away?

Unfortunately I dont have a lot of space in the freezer.

    • It arrives fresh (not frozen) in cooler packs (dry ice to keep them cool).

So it can sit outside and maintain freshness in the packaging.

However you will need to consume as per fresh meat or store long term in a freezer.

      • As tommy said.

It comes in a polystyrene box with cool bricks inside. When you order you can pick bulk uncut pieces or 300g steaks in 2 pack vacuum sealed portions (what I order). I've got a deep freezer so I load up that sucker every couple of months.

If you've only got a normal fridge, don't go crazy on the ordering. Unless you are cooking bbq's a few times a week or have more than a few mouths to feed, you may not get through it.

Go buy a chest freezer! Bulk meat is king!

  • WA/NT & TAS - No deliveries

This needs to be added to the title of the post.

    • I'll pop it in, thanks.

I didn't know they don't deliver too far, but it makes sense I guess (for interstaters Sutton is between Canberra and Sydney).

  • Thanks op
Grabbed the lamb racks for a birthday dinner and some bacon to try.

Have to agree that there is a definite difference between this and supermarket meats.

  • Dropped some money on the last deal and was really disappointed.Meat was average and the butchery was well below par. Bacon was okay, but nothing better than the deli bacon I get. Soggy cardboard is better than supermarket bacon.

    • You should've sent them a line mate. I've only ever ordered from them a couple of times (I think about 3?), but each time they've been bang on. If you've got something you aren't happy with, you should tell them.

I try and support local business, but if they aren't doing something right they need to know so they can get it right.

Buuuuutttttt, I gotta disagree with the bacon comment though… I would never describe theirs as "okay". The way it's smoked just permeates through the rest of the food perfectly. Caesar salads, bacon and eggs, homemade burgers and pizzas. Everything just tastes so much better it!!

      • The butchery was brought up several times in the thread on their last sirloin deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/292716.
I did sms Malcom (the owner?) not to be the whinging bastard, but just give some general feedback which may help his business.

  • Meaty meat meat. Here we come.

Damn you Ozbargain. Should be saving me money. Just spend $200 on meat but wait for it…spend $250 buying a chest freezer tonight just so that i could buy the meat.

    • Need a chest freezer bargain.

    • +1

      You won't look back mate.

There's substantial savings to be had, plus its stacks of space for other crap that fills the normal freezer like eski ice blocks, various tubs of ice cream, and of course all sorts of meats.

Also with those eski ice bricks, if you buy a few extra they are always handy to have if the power cuts out or your big fridge dies. You'll still have a cool source to use, and convenient ready to go blocks for the eski.

Plus having s few bags of ice on hand is handy to have if you have people over for Christmas/easter whatever.

I love my chest freezer :).

  • Thanks. Just picked up a couple of their "hamper" packs to save a little extra. Looking forward to trying this magical bacon! (Will also sous vide some steaks with my discounted Anova, hahahaha)
