replacement toner carts are a bit expensive though.
$75 is cheaper than the Dell replacement ink for the colour laser printer i have now, and they all seem to be somewhere in the $60 - $100 price bracket. They are happy to pump out cheap printers, but sting you with the costly ink …
I've got one of these, fairly good printer, first toner unit lasted a while but not as long as I hope the replacement lasts - they never completely fill the 1st ones. Avail for $169 @ MSY today too.
Officeworks has the drum ridiculously priced at $305. Available from $163 elsewhere online though, and lifetime is 24,000 pages. Probably buy a new printer by then.
How many pages can the supplied cartiges do?
20,000 supposedly.
Thats the duty cycle, the monthly maximum number of pages you should use this printer for.
1500 for black, 1000 for colours is whats quoted on the replacement cartridges.
Although some manufacturers do not supply full cartridges with the printer.
MSY have these for $169, but I guess the upside is Officeworks will ship it for free, and a $5 handling charge?
That and Officeworks is more common in every city than MSY. And MSY do not deliver.
The other upside is it is $3 cheaper.
i have the big brother of this printer, the clx 2160, you can buy cheap toner off ebay, works fine..

I wouldn't mine a colour laser, but the lack of cheap OEM cartridges (as opposed to refill kits) is off-putting. Decent price for the printer though if you don't mind the expensive consumables.
I like it, Good price and the supply life of the supplies looks pretty decent for the price as well. +'ve from me.
