  • The regular S7s are grey imports?

    • +1

      Yeah looks like from HK.

      • So why are you calling it an Australian model?

        • Step 1. Import phones
Step 2. Label phones as Australian stock
          Step 3. ???
          Step 4. Profit

Sorry, didn't notice. My title was butchered by the mods. Australian model only applies to the Edge, going to change it now.

    Dual sim is useless here
    "Dual SIM – 4G+2G (SIM2 is 2G only)'

    • +1

I wouldn't call it useless, I'd simply call it a redundant feature. I've got the dual sim, amazing phone for the price, don't stick a second sim in :)

    • Are they always 4G/2G or is this just a particularly cheap model?

    • +1

With a firmware update these support 4g/3g so not useless afterall

      • "With a firmware update these support 4g/3g so not useless afterall"

Is that a samsung oz authorised firmware update.
Or do you have to hack your new $700 fone for dual sim functionality.

  • +1

Useless ≈ Redundant in this instance.

  • So are the Aust model covered by manufacturer warranty or simply grey import?

At checkout, it reports $0 gst?

  • You know you can have a 'grey import' on Australian stock yer…

    • Says Aust model yer. Not stock

      • Yes, Australian model, so what's the issue? Still from an overseas company. Overseas companies can have Australian models…

        • Nm. Warranty from manufacturer or Kogan was the point.

  • Is this covered by Samsung Australia in terms of warranty?

    • I'm guessing no-one is particularly sure :s

      • Seems like the aust model are only on the edge

        • I've just checked a previous deal (today) on the edge. It appears that they're identical to Aust stock, but sourced overseas. It's likely that they're not covered by Samsung Aust. - but happy to be proven otherwise.

  • A little bit misleading calling it Australian model. Best to call it an international model with all the required bands to work in Australia.

Also dual sim not that great as one of the sim holder is also shared with a memory card. Can't have two sims and a memory card at the same time.

  • Dicksmith (Kogan) were selling S7 edge for 699 with 2 years local Samsung warranty.

  • I can only see the GOLD S7 for $649…..

Is there a Kogan Rep on here to confirm whats happening with other colours like black ?

    Cheers.
