Here we go again. Such is the complete dominance of the duopoly in supermarket retailing.

Their formula is deceptively simple - create a list of bargains (a minute percentage of the items they sell) to entice the consumers, who, along with the bargains are (unknowingly) spending a lot more on many other items at inflated prices.

It's no wonder that some of the Independent MPs are seeking to put an end to their supremacy and secure fairer deals for the farmers and the consumers.

I guess that's most ppl, bargain hunter like myself
just buy the stuff on special!

    • Isn't that why foreign supermarkets are allowed in now? Like Costco? I've noticed prices on some essentials have dropped after they allowed foreign players. Last I heard, Carrefour wants to come in too. If they do it'd be pretty awesome!

Duodorant? Is that a twin pack?

    • its not twin pack

        Poor Amit,

They are having a laugh at your expense. It's a little bit cruel to keep you in the dark, especially after all your effort in positing this deal.

Duo means 'a pair', via Italian from Latin 'two'; as in duet.

No doubt the 'duopoly' from the comments immediately above got kingsville's sense of humour going. You should try not to take things too literary or seriously, okay?

        • thanks for enlightening me….very funny

    • LOLs

      • +1

        I still don't think Amit got it… lol… Very funny!! :)

just wanna express my gratitude to the whoever types these out each week. keep it up :)

  • -7

nothing better to do with you time dear Amit?

    • +6

I think he's spent his time better by typing all that out than you did by typing your comment.

      • +3

Yeah, bit harsh. The guy used his own time sharing a bargain for us, where's the appreciation. It's not the OzBargain way.

        +1 Amit, good work mate!

        • +4

+1 from me too - so much typing - thanks

        • totally agree. Keep up the great work Amit.

      • +1

Mustn't take it the wrong way, vegimate meant it as a 'tongue-in-cheek' remark, as in:
"nothing better to do with your time, eh? ;-)"

Notice that vegimate has voted positive for the post and has used the adjective dear in addressing Amit?

coles and woolies have gone up so much inprice its sort of like unless its half price then i cant really even afford to buy it now days!!!!!

my shopping habits are dictated by whats cheapest!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 50% off greeting cards :)

  • +1

Thanks Amit, ignore people who don't seem appreciative.

  • I wish they would have Red Bull for half price again. I don't really like the taste of V.

    • Some Asian grocers sell parallel imports for a much lower price. But be careful, some of the Red Bull overseas have excessive amount of caffeine; you can check the label and compare. Also the taste sometimes is tweaked for locals. The ones I bought seem distinctively sweeter..

  • Hope the V doesn't run out this time. Was just at Coles then (thought maybe sale already started) but it wasn't and there was plenty of 4 packs on the shelf.

    • Try a raincheck dude

  • +1

Didn't the curly fries sell like hotcakes last week, went in twice to buy some and they were OOS. Trusty 'ol raincheck!

  • V Energy Drink 4X250ml: $4.24 (Was $8.49)

    Hope it includes sugar free

  • Good work champ.
