  • Only if it had a scanner and an auto document feed for the scanner as well.

Seems like a great price with the wlan functionality the only let down is it's a HP

    From a review
"The HP LaserJet Pro P1102w is a basic monochrome laser printer with a few surprises, namely better-than-expected speed and Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, its pricey toner offsets its very affordable purchase price."

Toner probably more expensive then the printer. Typical HP.
Ink cartridges I can refill, laser toner no (not yet)

what does toner have to do with this printer deal? It's a good deal, my local 'cheap pc shop' sells it for $156.

    • +1

Don't neg vote because you can't do a crappy refill yourself. Laser craps on inkjet for b&w

  • meh… $14 shipping to Brisbane… seems like $7 for Sydney.

Toner lasts a VERY long time though, any reason to neg the original poster cameldownunder? He wasn't putting up a deal on toner.

Compared with Static Ice yes, it might be cheaper.
But what do you do when you need a new toner, and the toner is expensive?
You have to consider the price of a toner too, when buying a laser printer.

      • You're meant to vote on the deal, not the product. $108 is a good price.

Your reason is moot as the same applies to every cheap laser printer around.

        • If you buy a dirt cheap printer with expensive Toner/cartridge/refill then it is not a bargain.
No matter how cheap/cheaper the printer is.

And reading through the wiki, thanks, i will vote different (no vote but still comment) next time

        • You must be naive, I personally don't agree with the neg, but I don't open a thread to read comments about the deal, I want to read comments about the product or alternatives and then I'll decide if it's a deal!

And inkjets cartridges have crap capacity and dont look as good as laser prints. Therefore i should neg every inkjet printer that gets listed here, right? No. Get a clue please.

        • And HP does Zone their printer. I had huge problems when i put Australian Cartridges in my overseas printer.
Took me over 1 week to change zone of the printer

if only printer manufacturers will stop creating wastes by dumping printer prices and make toners cheaper so that still serviceable printers don't get chucked whenever deals like this come along.

  • Sorry, Is that mean a network printer ?

    • yes network wireless, although you usually need a wirless router for this to work

  • Good price for the printer, but toner is very expensive indeed. I had a kyocera mita from long ago and the toner is the same price but prints 4 times more pages (6000p). $80 for 1600p seems a bit high for me.

    • completely different price to buy the unit aswell, the kyocera machines are generally very expensive on their own.

  • for a cheap B&W laser WITH wifi, you cant go wrong.

no reason to - vote because of printer cartridges. a) still much cheaper than inkjet, b) you dont have to buy genuine HP. plenty of reputable 3rd party cartridge suppliers.

considering its laser, the one cartridge is going to last thousands of sheets. I guess another option is to just buy a brand new printer in a year or 2 (shame about the landfill though).

its a +vote from me for those actually looking for a decent B&W laser printer. wifi and a good brand- cant go wrong for this price.

  • is this a good printer for photos?

    • it only prints one colour - black…
