    For the generic Canon cartridges I was looking for, I couldn't find one to beat it on ebay at full price let alone with the 15% discount. Might vary depending on what cartridge you're after.

        Looks like a different model but takes same ink. The ink it comes with is the standard size not XL so it does 180 pages from memory vs 400 per cartridge.

        I originally bought the printer for $17 with included ink in one of the sales. I guess they look to make their money in the replacement ink.

        I paid under $200 for an A3 printer.
        Ink bottles and refillable cartridge about $150 total.

        About 2yrs of printing.
        Colour. A4. A3.
        Gone through over 2500 pages easily.
        Heaps of ink left.

        Touch wood but I have yet to get clogs and blockages.

  Is ink costs too much per page… it might be worth considering a different printer.

    What's a good cost per page?

    A rough calculation based on the ones I bought above is 4.5c per page (mix of black and colour though).

      Have a look on the endless ink and rihac pages. Work backwards.

      I have a brother MFD, spent #100 on ink kit. It has seen 4 yrs usage and no end in sight. Still have several bottles of ink.
      It has definitely been more than 7500 pages so far (3 cartons) which puts it at 1.3c and falling.

      As with other brands, the cart that they come with are 'starter'carts.

        Bought large ink bottles and syringes.
        Heaps of printing.
        My boss is ok with giving me a ream or 2. The A3 can be a bit of a killer
