    Nope waits for MSY posts

    @ Balls - Its your choice :)

BTW just to give you idea .. similar MSY "value" pack with same features/specs with 1 year warranty is just over $730 …

    cheers

  • This isnt bad.

I recently made a PC from MSY gear using very similar parts.
The price was around the $600 mark.

Adding in the stuff i did not buy and that someone is putting it together installing windows and the drivers for me it seems a decent deal.

    • its silly to compare desktop and laptops at the same price point… imo, don't bother doing so. both are very different things.

for one, laptops comes with their own 'UPS' (ie. their own battery pack) and consumes far less power than a PC does.

it's a waste of time to do the desktop vs. laptop thingy. compare apples with apples.

      • You replied to the wrong post there :-)

      • Um. He is comparing apples to apples.

You've brought oranges into the equation 'cause you assumed something about the OP and didn't bother clicking the deal link…

  • since monitor will cost you extra 100 bucks, why should i buy this over laptop for 699?? acer/medion?

    • because some people want a desktop and some people want a laptop just like how some people want a hamburger and some people want a scotch and coke

      • I can see validity in both arguments. But for sake of ozBARGAIN. A laptop might actually be a better solution as you would have to add extra moneys to be able to use the PC.

You don't need a monitor, I just take a few pills, attach electrodes to my brain and I can see funny stuff from the computer.

I think everyone has to decide if they need a laptop's portability or the desktop's advantage in terms of easy upgrade-ability and better specs for same or even less money then a laptop.

    • typically you'r looking at half the specs for the same price in a laptop…
eg 500GB hd VS 1tb drive
      2GB ram Vs 4 etc…

but as laptops have been selling like hot cakes the rule is slowly changing.

  • How come the specifics for this 'bargain' aren't specified?
E.g. what brand of RAM is it? Or what model the motherboard is?
