While this may be a bargain, you can pickup an awesome alloy jack at Costco for $178 which will perform just as well as this, plus added benefit of costco warranty….

    • Low profile also? Lowered cars love these.

      • Yeah the costco ones are low profile. I have one and it's great.

Note it's only 1500kg from memory though.

        • Only 1500kg.. pretty basic jack. Trolley jacks with a capacity of double that and also have the high reach capability needed for suv's are rarely cheap.

        • Curious… if you need a low profile design to get under a car, why do you need high reach for SUV?
Just seems like it does both extremes of the scale, when usually you only need one or the other :S

        • @blacknwhite1:

Ironically, many "Sports SUV's" have some pretty low hanging sections these days. But in general, I agree.

        • @blacknwhite1: Depends how many cars you have, and how long you plan to keep the jack…
@xywolap: All jacks are alloy as an alloy is any mix of metals, including steel. But the jacks you might be thinking of are often light aluminum, light is their benefit but at a cost in strength/limit.

almost all floor jacks are considered 'low profile', you won't be reaching the front crossmember without wheel ramps on most lowered cars in my experience though

Crossmembers often sit lower than any panel or plastic bumper. I used to use two jacks as I couldnt get the higher lift jack under the crossmember.

I am still waiting for the ToolPro one to go back on sale for $199 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/290867. This Kincrome one is probably better in term of quality but i can't afford it.

    • Yeah I got the ToolPro Jack from that deal, very happy with it.

    • The Costco one looks pretty similar to that:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/238938
      2T weight, and slightly cheaper

      • The only prob for some (like those with a 4WD) may be the 440mm lift height on the Costco one vs the 550mm of the Toolpro and Kincrome

Exactly, I have a lowered Clubsport and an X5, so i need a jack to go from very low to very high. The Toolpro and this Krincrome fit my needs, the only thing that is holding me back from this deal is the price difference. It is $100 more comparing to the Toolpro when it goes on sale or super sale. The Toolpro was down to $269 from my memory a couple of weeks ago, well i am expecting the $199 deal on the Toolpro, come one SCA… PS. I'm in WA so no Costco for me, poor us WA.

  • I've physically handled both Crapco and Kincrome.
Go for this one, far better made to start with.
I would trust my life (within reason obviously) with this, not with that shonky Crapco one though.
And as for Crapco warranty, you've got to pay to maintain your membership and have the original proof of purchase for it to be honoured.

    • Agreed!
I have one of these , I bought it at a regular price of $299 back in 2015. I cannot fault it, effortlessly lifts all our cars.
Just crappy SCA have jacked up the price on this only to have a "special"
