This is the cheapest price i have found it available for online.
I don't get it, when 10" netbooks are touching $200, how could a 7" DVD player worth $150?
Really? Got a link to one, seriously interested.
Also, you'll get better battery life from a dedicated unit, most of the time. Some of the cheaper netbooks struggle to play a full DVD (assuming it has a DVD drive) on one charge.
A recent post on OZB is http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/30463
And a cheaper but expired deal was: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/23929
Netbooks are $200???
I dont think Netbooks have DVD drives?
i think u mean to say not ALL netbooks now adays have dvd drives…
i would also like to see a link to a decent 10" netbook with DVD drive…
I don't think 10" netbooks come with a DVD drive.
Asus have a 10" netbook with dvd drive.
Older single core processer "1004DN"
and a newer dual core model "1201N"
Static Ice Says No!
Cheapest 7" starts at $85.00, this is no deal!

in all fairness, LG (brand we know), Shenzu (homebrand?)
There are other brands there, since when does LG = better brand , they are probably the same factory for all you know
In all fairness you can almost get 2 for the price
@Mikinoz
"since when does LG = better brand"Ah, the power of marketing (aka duping the consumers).
I suspect not many people know that LG Electronics was previously known as GoldStar and it changed its name to try and disassociate from the largely inferior products it was churning out under the GoldStar brand.
Apart from some pretty good LCD screens, I find their other products are still of poorer design/quality when compared to the other big names.
@EarlyBird: In LGs defense, I had one of their 7" DVD Player which went faulty in the warranty period…with possibly not really a warranty issue.
I rang them and immediately got through to customer service, who immediately arranged for a courier to bring a box and labels and collect the offending item.
After all the shite you normally get trying to arrange warranty repairs, or even get through to someone, I nearly fell off my perch.
A few days later it came back by express courier wonderfully restored to life. I was very pleased, as was the little person who probably broke it in the first place.
However, this was a year or two back, and when it stopped working again - out of warranty - it was going to cost an arm and a leg, paid up front to a contractor, just to get a quote.
Needless to say, it was binned.
@EarlyBird: Ahh yes i remember Lucky Goldstar change , have to agree not seeing improvements myself just glad i havent seem them enter the netbook market yet! lol
@EarlyBird: Some of Goldstar's products got an unfair bum rap! A family member still has a Goldstar 48cm TV I purchased in 1987, it has never missed a beat! I've also renovated several homes that have had Goldstar air conditioners (split & box systems), despite their obvious vintage, all were still working fine when I encountered them! ;)
Please bear in mind, we're talking about mass market consumer whitegoods/electronics…even the vastly overrated Sony products aren't lovingly handcrafted by vestal virgins in factories made of fluffy white clouds! :p
Dick Smith has DSE brand 7" for $90, and a dual screen 7" for $149. Not sure if it's worth the $60 dollar premium for an LG with same screen size.
Philips is probably a better brand and $30 cheaper.
Doesn't seem like a deal to me - HT were flogging off 7" DVDs for $100 last year. And yes, I know they're not available now, but still this seems pricey
If this was the Toshiba's it was an awesome deal, 5 hour battery, remote control and looked very sleek.
Russian built but a great little player
Ainol 7" 16gb pmp is the way to go, this one is discounted $20 plus has free shipping
http://mp4nation.net/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_inf…
+ve from me because you said Ainol. ;-)
Bookmarked that site, thanks, but it's not actually a DVD Player, so off-topic.
Ainol… great name for a product :)
As about LG DVD player - a bit too pricey for what it is. Philips is better and cheaper.
"Discounted $20" = meaningless. The price is $164.50.
isnt this site about finding discounts??
it also plays MKV which is far better than DVDMKV is a container. The video quality could easily be worse on a MKV than on a DVD. At least a DVD has standards to follow..
Cant believe people are still hesitating -ve this one. JB HiFi has $99 one which is not any worse than LG brand.
P.S. I wouldn't buy LG even it's $49 let alone $149!
Not a single +ve says all, we don't really need -ve unless it's fake or misleading.
The current Good Guys catalogue has a 7" Lenoxx portable DVD player for $78. You might even be able to haggle that down further.
What makes this a deal? I don't get it.
