ZZ Top's 'Legs' plays softly in the background

    • ah the eighties.
Legs and Sharp Dressed Man. Also Back to the Future 3.

Interesting fact: Paul Hogan’s missus (and the Crocodile Dundee star) is one of the angels in the music videos.

  • Don’t think it can go on the wall.

    • +3

Looks like it has a Vesa Mount so I suspect it can.

      • In the reviews on LG website, someone said they had wall mounted it.

Specs on LG website has VESA mounting as "300 x 200" so it can be wall mounted

      • Oh good. This is a good price for OLED then.

PS I just looked at the set up guide and you don’t even need a vesa mount, it has the usual mounting points for a wall mount.

        • +5

Those usual mount points is called vesa.

          • +2

@onggie: There you go, I always thought it was a little square mount on the end of a monitor arm or stand.

            My lesson for the day.

            • @entropysbane:

little square mount on the end of a monitor arm or stand

Those are indeed VESA mounts 👌

The power cord sprawled across the floor is a nice touch. Very stylish.

    • This is one thing that the Samsung Frame is a lot better on — an almost transparent, thin cord that easily blends into the carpet. Not so much with the LG Pose.

  • any OLED 85 inch please…

The 97" M4 is currently on sale for $22,680, that's a saving of about $19,000

How does this functionally differ to a C series LG OLED? If it's similar, seems like a quite good price despite the weird un-relatable arty wank style

  • How does this compare to LG C4 55? Or C3/C2.

I assume the Tv can come off the stand too lol?

Placed an order, total was $1092 after 10% LG coupon and 8% Cashback.

Just after a cheap oled and its the closest to new i could find

    • +1

Quick research shows it seems like a C2 panel and essentially equivalent specs. VESA compatible so you'd have to imagine the stand comes off. Looks like a good deal to me honestly, given C2 -> C4 upgrade is minor at best!

      • +1

Looking closely at the specs on LG website, it's got same spec as C4 - ie 144Hz VRR, using same Processor thingy, OS is WebOS 24 - so it must be a C4 panel

        • The LG Posé TV utilizes LG's OLED evo panel, which is the same panel used in the LG C2 series. This advanced panel, combined with the α9 Gen5 AI Processor 4K, delivers enhanced brightness and color accuracy, providing an exceptional viewing experience.

Sounds like ChatGPT is "talking" about the previous model, the 55LX1QPSA

            • @Coolhandlucas: Agreed. Not much info on this model (TP vs QP). It is a new model released at end of 2024 it looks like.
If you look at the existing QP model, it only has the Gen5 AI chip, whereas the TP has the Gen7 AI chip. If you compare the spec of this model (55LX1TPSA) to the normal C4 on the LG website, the specs look identical. I'm fairly sure this is a 55" C4 panel for $1,187.10 incl 10% discount (just need to ask in chat). All you need is access to an edu email.

Cracking deal. Ozbargain is sleeping on this one.

    • Shopback T&C

This Cashback deal is not valid together with:
Vouchers or Promo codes not featured on our platform

so you may not get the cashback

    • Great price for a C panel whether it's C2 or C4, definitely go for the voucher too. Just bought a C4 and don't need another TV……….

  • I have signed up with and edu email, but the price is $2,299.00
    Anyone got the same?

    • +1

After signing up with Edu, you need to apply for VIP account. Thats what i had to do for my order.

Make sure you ask for 10% in chat and get shopback rewards, 7% by default but if you sign up on there u get 8% and it costs $5/month. Only a $6 benefit for 1% extra cashback but this is OZbargain!!!!

      • Shopback T&C

This Cashback deal is not valid together with:
Vouchers or Promo codes not featured on our platform

so you may not get the cashback

      • .. And I believe its a $11 benefit with 1% extra cashback. The $5/month gets cancelled out with the $5 gift card they provide (assuming they still do).

      • Awesome, thank you

      • how do you apply for VIP account

        • +2

I just made a new .edu account.
None of the existing "coupon codes" for VIP on ozbargain were working (example HSBC codes).
But inside of profile and profile settings or something, I just saw an option to "apply for VIP" and it instantly upgraded my account.

  • Anyone got any more Intel on how to make the account "VIP"?

Got a mate trying to use this deal. He's got both high school and uni edu emails and both email accounts still prompt him for a code before LG will upgrade his account to "VIP" status.

  • +1

This link https://www.lg.com/au/my-account/upgrade-to-vip/ did work for people on another post

    • Worked for me, will tell my mate cheers!

      • Did it ask you for an LG VIP shop key?

        • Nope, just asked me to check a couple of boxes (can't even remember what they said) then it told me I was upgraded to VIP. I signed up to an LG account using my ANU alumni email, if that makes any difference.

Can someone please Dm me for 10% code

    • Did chat not provide you one? Say anything like you get better price at local store…

      • +1

        Got it ty

        • I tried chat twice and the told me to call the number. Once calling the number they told me that they are just for tech support and to try the chat.

Did you get a coupon through the chat? If you’ve used the code already, would you care to share it? I’ll see if it works a second time.

          • @BargainGain: I think the live chat is closed now (says its 8am - 8pm) - I'd appreciate the code too if you have it :)

        • In the same boat, would greatly appreciate it if someone could DM me the code!

  • A TV and an advanced game of limbo.

  • Just asked LG Live Chat for a coupon code and got one (10%). Checked out through Topcashback for an extra 3% cashback (assuming it clears, probably won't given I used the 10% coupon, but worth a shot). Total $1,187.10 (minus a further $35.61 cashback if it comes through).

    • It's showing temporarily out of stock for me :( Are you from Sydney?

      • The one I ordered yesterday was going to Darwin, and the one I ordered today is going to Melbourne. But I'd better keep an eye on my education email for an out of stock alert!

        • +1

Okay looks like more stock arrived. Managed to order one!!

          • @dabs: Show oos for me, Sydney also :(

    • Any chance shopback / Topcashback tracked after using the 10% coupon code? Thank you!

      • Looks like it has tracked from TopCashback, although of course it aint over till the fat lady pays out…

  • Don’t need it but still brought one anyway (got the 10% off and the shopback 6.6% if works) , thanks

    • Curious. What would you do with it if you don't need it? Replace existing one? Will you use the stand or wall mount it?

      • -1

I have a TV and projector in the living room, a triple C2 42 setup in the bedroom for sim racing, and two monitors for my work PC in the office/music practice room. I guess this new TV will either be my bedside TV or serve as an additional one for the office/practice room, since it comes with a stand that I can move wherever I need it

        • -1

Crazy how 3 people downvoted this, tall poppy syndrome is real on ozbargain too!!!

  • -1

Anyone's shopback / Topcashback tracked after using the 10% coupon code? Thank you!

    • Yeah mine got tracked, but not sure if it will be paid tbh

      • Thank you. Did you use shopback or Topcashback? Cheers!

My TV got delivered today within two business days of purchase and before the long weekend.
LG included delivery, installation and removal of an old device if you wish through their partnership with DHL.

I kept my old device to sell but they removed all packaging for me. The panel is awesome. I don’t know enough to confirm it is a C4 but I suspect it is. The soundbar at the bottom is probably better than sound on comparable TVs but won’t outperform a dedicated soundbar. Haven’t played with the cable hiding through the legs yet but it looks fun. Stoked with this for sub $1200. I didn’t try my luck with cashback but perhaps I should have.

    • Nice, i wish mine came that quick, the earliest for mine was the 28/1 and i'm gone be away so i scheduled it to be delivered a week after. Are you gonna wall mount or just using the legs?

      • Legs for now. We’ll see how clean it looks with the cable management and I’ve only just moved in so still organising furniture. Problem with mounting is I wouldn’t want to throw out the legs but I have nowhere to store them.
But it’s also a hyper-modern addition to my otherwise early 1900s home which I’ve styled in a very vintage manner.
The people who delivered had never “built” one before so they were watching videos and took two of them maybe 30-45 mins. They’re from DHL with training from LG in partnership.
        I don’t think I’ll lose much reselling a C4 panel which I bought for sub $1200.

    • +1

      Happy for you :)
Was hesitant and sharing this, fear of getting trolled.

      • Thanks for sharing! So hard to find info on this model but I’m very happy with it.

    • +2

Stoked to hear all this - I have just ordered one myself.
The OP on this deal says it is an alpha9 Gen 5 processor, but if you get the LG.com.au site to do a comparison with the older LX1 model (this deal is for the LX1T) then you can see the LX1T actually has the alpha9 Gen 7 processor (same as the C4). If the panel and other qualities are on par with the C4 I am thrilled - I was waiting and budgeting $2K for our purchase.

  • Damn! I've been looking for this but chat is only available Monday to Friday so no 10% off code for me :(

  • Anyone happy to share a .edu email with me in exchange for some nice vinos??

    • How did you go? I’m keen for this too

  • Still show oos in Sydney :(

  • if anybody ordered and does not want it please let me know

  • Who else ordered and has received their TV? Curious to hear your thoughts.

    • +1

I got it and I am absolutely stoked with it. Top notch quality and it looks clean and tidy on the leg stand. Absolutely amazing bargain.
The WebOS 24 is super fast on the hardware. Watched the Pirates of the Carribbean series in 4K HDR and the dark scenes looked incredible.

      • I tried to use WebOS for two days and it drove me insane and I bought an Apple TV lol
Logged out of everything and disconnected WebOS from wifi so LG can't steal my data. Recently reconnected it to wifi so I could use the GitHub plug-in for windows machines when using it as a monitor (I am trialling this lol) so my laptop can auto turn on / turn off the tv with wifi.

        • The home hub sucks, haha, but the WebOS apps have been fast and flawless, playback from USB has been perfect - not sure what else people want out of it, really.

Edit: To be fair, I bought it for the screen knowing that the software was always a secondary consideration.

  • I have ordered this TV, but it looks like there is a small impact on the top right of the screen, which you can see when it is turned off. Does anyone else have this issue? LG customer service want to see photos of the box but it is not damaged.

    • Do you have any pics of the damage? Nah mine is fine!

      • It looks like the are small indents at the top left and top right of the screen - possibly a manufacturing defect. See photos here: https://imgur.com/a/8qu0gj0
I can see these indents when the TV is on, so maybe it is fine? Not sure if it is worth chasing LG for - what do you guys think?

        • +1

If you have sun shining in from the side you can see them at certain angles. Hard to tell from the photos but my G1 has something similar.

          • @F-22: Thanks! From LG:

Hi there, as per our relevant team that this is normal, as this is an OLED Evo.

If the OLED TV screen appears to have waves or is warped when powered off, this is not a defect but by design.

            • +1

@dragond: Yeah! Just saw your pics - I've had 2 LG OLEDS and they are the same, just how they look!

            • +1

@dragond: Yes, back when I bought the g1 I went through similar process. LG didn't have a clear answer like they do now and they orginally replaced my TV. The second TV did still have it but it was reduced from my first. So the extent of the dents varies from TV to TV.
