If you're technically minded HomeAssistant is free and open source. It's not for beginners but it's extremely powerful software with 643 components currently supported and more in development.
FYI The US$74.95 is for the software that runs on a Raspberry PI. Having said that, it's not bad software - I used it for years running on a windows pc and then a windows vm. Useful if you want to control multiple different types of systems, although now I'm using the ImperiHome app and it is so incredibly easy compared to creating something using HS3Touch. Would definitely recommend downloading the trial version of the s/w first to see if it does what you want.
I'd also consider https://domoticz.com/, https://www.openhab.org/, or http://www.homegenie.it/. If willing to spend some money, then http://getvera.com/ is worth checking out.
