    Lol. Unicorn.

    • +4

No stock at Parramatta but the operator was super helpful. She confirmed price was $9.99 and in NSW Hurstville, Bondi, Strathfield and New Castle have stock only.

      • None in Docklands, VIC

      • At my local I had the same very helpful lady who shared the same info.

She also said that I was the 3rd person to ask within 25mins of opening!!!

  • +12

Lol how about your partner tell us where all these unicorns are?

    • +10

She said she would be happy to provide a location list when she goes into work tomorrow - WA. There were at least 3 in Cannington WA and two in Midland WA

      • +1

        Sydney too please ^^

      • +1

Yes, please see if there's any stores in sydney for us.

      • +1

can she reserve 1 for mmd if its available at her store?

        • +4

          @hell0:
I think it is time that OzBargain seriously considers some kind of minimum age for membership (not just to browse, but for actual membership), to avoid repeated time-wasting posts like this. This person is clearly aged no older than 13 years… so perhaps an age limit of 14 years might be appropriate to avoid crap like this being posted?

        • @GnarlyKnuckles: Broden was at least 22.

        • -1

@hell0: What kind of an idiot would actually entertain your offer…

        • +4

          @gokhanh: He's obviously trolling

      • +3

        And Adelaide…

      • +2

Any chance of checking stock in the Newcastle NSW area ?

Maybe just start with "NSW" I'm guessing there will be 0 total anyway :P

      • +14

Geez by the time she starts, every other state would have been opened 1 hour and a half ago

        • And she can probably watch the stock numbers go down in real time, like a rocket launch countdown !!! 😁😳

      • +11

Please reserve a boxful for my friend Broden.

        • -2

Don't hate the player, hate the game!

      • Are you saying thats the amount of them in the post office there or there are 3 post office and two post offices in these locations.

      • Are Business Hubs considered Stores/Shops?

        • Can you tell me more in wa? South of the river

        • No.

      • Any in South Perth like Rockingham/Mandurah.

      • would like to know more about WA - anywhere near CBD/Fremantle/Melville?

      • What other stores in wa have

      • A friend was going to Cannington post office so I asked her to check if they really have any in stock. The lady at the counter said there were 8 people asking for the same thing between 9 & 9.15 (they open at 9am). power of ozbargain.

      • Hi,can you update the invoice? because I find a post which has stock but they dont want to check it for me. thanks a lot

Let the adult version of Easter egg hunt begin…

    What are Aus Post Stores?

    • +5

      +1
How are they different a local post office?

      • +9

They are the ones selling Sewing Machines

      • +1

I think they mean LPOs - Licenced Post Offices. If you search your area, it should say LPO next to them, so don't bother going to those ones.

    • +1

Stores that are owned by Aus Post themselves - normally the ones you see in the more major shopping centres

    • On the location search they're named "Post Shop".

  • +11

Who would set the price $9.99 to clear this item? Even at six times the price ($60) it would be gone extremely quickly. And if they didn't mind it taking a week, try $99. Maybe this is why we need to pay more for shipping…

    • +38

they recover money easily by selling expensive stamps

      • +11

        and bad service

        • +7

          Or steal some parcels

        • @divious: Only some? Damn, I need your post guy. I'm lucky to get anything valued more than $5 delivered these days.

      • +8

        Or by sacking overpaid CEO

        • +2

Didn't he resign? With a fat golden parachute? Probably going to go and get a high paid board position at NBNCo or something next like all the other government protected 'businessman' (looking at you, Ziggy).

        • +1

          @unique452:

yeah the smart ones become CEOs… not so smart ones become PMs… :X
          sorry can't help it….

    • +22

DSE staff bought all of it.

    • -1

If it's the ones that I'm thinking of, they're probably the USB 2 version. I bought a couple of them for $68 each in 2011. Sure they're worth more than $10, but they're not worth $100 - or anywhere near it.

      • +10

The one in front of me is usb 3.0

    • +9

Apparently if even one person ships it to their interstate grandmother Aus Post breaks even.

    • +2

Someone who just wants to watch the world burn.

    • +2

'Who would set the price $9.99 to clear this item…'

Clearly some bright spark forgot a '9', and it should have been '$99.99'.

    • Perhaps some dumbass in post office think he got more on gst from selling it at lower price than whatever they're getting it for :)

  • +2

Limited stock that means no way you can find one.

  • why wouldnt staff or their relos cleaned this out already?

    • +2

Price adjustment only occurred late today WA time so very possible this has not been snapped up by staff on east coast stores.

      • What about Western Australia? I'd love to buy 1 for myself

    • Dick Smith style

      • Wop wop wop…

  • +1

Good luck now it will be ozbargained!!

  • +1

716 clicks so far… Looks like all the Australia Post outlets are going to be flooded with phone calls at 9am tomorrow… :)

    • +3

      Yea… guess I won't bother.
Besides I work, and carrying 300gb of slowish USB3 sticks on my keyring is enough I guess.

      • +3

        Pic?

  • +2

How can we search for "actual Aus Post stores"?

    • Just search your area and avoid the ones that say LPO after them.

      • +1

Thanks. Instead they say… Post Shop! Cheers.

  • +2

I expect riots at the GPO in each capital city when the single hard drive available runs out.

  • +2

    What have you started OP…

    • +7

Yeah starting to think I shouldn't have posted this considering how everyone is complaining about the limited stock.

      • +13

If you didn't post it someone else would have tomorrow. Can't please everyone on here but thanks for sharing!

  • +1

    Wouldn't even bother looking personally.

  • Could be a pricing error, maybe $99.90?

    • +4

No definitely right price - have it ticketed as such in front of me and bought it as such today.

      • Could you post the receipt

      • +2

        'No definitely right price…'

What turd means is, that someone has likely effed up royally here, such that the 'ticketed' price has actually become ~ten times less than it was supposed to have been. Someone has attempted to type '99.99', and accidentally typed '9.99'.

LOL. It will be fun to see how this one plays out/whether any lucky OzBers can cash-in before the error is corrected tomozza… Or maybe they will not bother trying to correct it? If there's only limited stock left, trying to correct it would just create a whole lot of ill-will/confusion/lost staff-hours, and all for no real gain. And they would then still be left with the units they were trying to clear. I think in this case Australia Post would simply be best off letting the few that are left on the shelves tomozza 'clear' at the bargain price. And they will clear VERY quickly, at this price! LOL.

        • +1

$99.99 is a price error itself for this drive.

        • +1

@CVonC: How is $30 off a pricing error?

  • Still confused as to which store to buy from

  • Unicorn store…

  • I'm going need two Unicorn to make this work.
    ..,and some soft music. lol

  • +1

will give auspost a call tomorrow and try reserve one, but i don't have high hopes

  • +3

I guess I'll see some of you 8:30am tomorrow at the Melbourne GPO Post Shop

    • Nope, as much as I'd like to believe it. Just don't think a post office as big and busy as that will have anything.

    • Howd you go with that store?

      • None left unfortunately, I got there 10 minutes late.

  • +10

Thanks for posting OP, could have easily kept this to themselves…

  • Oooh nice, I'm planning to pickup a parcel tomorrow so worth it to have a look at my local :).

    • Tomorrow?

It's been Ozbargained. Pretty sure everywhere in Australia would be out of stock by now.

  • +2

AP has cleared out limited stock at low prices before but never this low. Some OzBargainers have been lucky😉

Picked up a few 2TB Seagate USB 3 for $50 each in 2013 at nearest AP, but that new store had half the stock available in SE Qld.

  • +1

    Insufficient quantity imo.

    • how can you tell?
