No warranty and region locked? Honestly, just pay the $300 extra and buy local. And if you can't afford that, then this phone isn't really for you.

Why pay $300 more if you don't have to? Take into account chances of a failure, cost of sending back to Amazon or to somewhere like Hong Kong to get it fixed and it still seems to be a good deal.

I've purchased thousands of items from overseas and the only one that bit me in the arse was a power tool out of the higher priced items. I have induction cooktops, ovens, a mower and more from overseas with substantial savings. One induction cooktop alone cost $700 delivered but saved $1400 on the local price and is still going strong after five years.

      • Because its not worth the time and cost of being out of a phone for a month. I agree with buying non electric ptoducts or very reliable products overseas. But something like a mobile phone that has a much high risk of something going wrong is just not worth the time, hassle and stress. An exception would be a cheap Chinadroid of course. But this thing is close to $1000.

If you really need a phone a cheap spare isn't that expensive and this applies if you're getting warranty in Australia.

Why is a mobile phone such a high risk item of something going wrong? It's the ideal product to buy from overseas because it's so small and easy to return. I've purchased ovens, induction cooktops, mowers, power tools and more from overseas which are impossible to cost effectively return.

        • @Maverick-au:

you are the exception not the rule

    • Warranty is over rated I have seen and heard so many warranty turned down due to fine print in T and C
warranty will not cover scratch or crack glass unless you can prove the glass crack on it's own without even touching.

      • Where did I say cracked or scratched glass? Obviously thats the fault of the user, not even local warranty should cover that. Im talking about stuff like LG bootloop or the Samsung explosive battery fiasco.

I don't think this deal should qualify. Getting a Euro sim is an unknown cost and an absolute painful addition to an expensive process. I can't believe how many people upvoted this deal.

      It all depends
If you want to go through the effort in activating it then go for gold
It's a good price but not worth the risk

Great looking phone, the only thing missing IMO is the dual camera like the iphone 7 plus or xiaomi mi6.

  • That is shame it's locked!

  • Was anyone able to get their phone region unlocked? I tried Cellservices but they weren't able to do it.
