56kg barbell dumbell weight pack for $154.50 fathers day special

40

The little bloke wanted us to knock a few bucks off our most popular pack so he can afford something good for his dad for fathers day so we've taken 20% off our 56kg barbell pack. It comes with a 6ft barbell, 2 dumbbell handles and 45kg in EZ lift weight plates.

This pack is great for those looking to get into (or back into) training. There's enough weight to do your basic compound movements (squats, deadlifts, rows etc), as well as a heap of isolation movements (curls etc). Combine it with a bench and you've got a nice home gym set-up.

The equipment is all standard size (see here for difference between standard and olympic sized equipment - http://www.littleblokefitness.com.au/the-difference-between-…). The included bars are solid steel (unlike the cheaper hollow ones) with 25mm shafts and the plates are iron so will withstand a lot of punishment.

The included weight plates are little bloke fitness tri-grip baked enamel weight plates with 28mm holes as follows:
- 2 by 10kg (20kg)
- 2 by 5kg (10kg)
- 4 by 2.5kg (10kg)
- 4 by 1.25kg (5kg)

Pick-up available from Coburg in Melbourne, or cheap national delivery is available.

Postage calculator is available on checkout but as a guide for metro areas:

Syd $38
Bris $61.50
Perth $107.50
Adel $41
Melb $16.50

This is part of Father's Day deals for 2010.

  • I'm very much not a fitness nut, but I just took a peek at your site and really like what I saw. The page explaining standard vs olympic was particularly good - short, sweet, and honest.

    Thumbs up!

really? it doesnt explain why the olympic is better at getting you "huge"

seems like a little bit of an up sell at the end

      • read it again

        • It's actually pretty good indeed… I didn't see it being an upsell at all… the short, short paraphrased version:

          • Get the "standard" sized stuff if you're a home user just trying to get fit, stay fit, gain a bit of muscle etc

          • Get the "olympic" sized stuff if you seriously want to bulk up. They also explain why the olympic bars cost more, and it does say why it gets you more huge - hint - the bars can hold a lot more weight.

I don't need that set, but I'll be keeping an eye out on the website for when they have sales on weight plates, as their store isn't far from my work. :)

          • @MrGareth: Thanks for the feedback all. Webbiegareth - you paraphrase great - your version is shorter than mine and spot on. You don't need to spend the money on olympic stuff unless you plan on lifting really big weights.

It wasn't intended to be an upsell - more an FYI as there is some confusion out there about the difference between standard and olympic plates and which ones you should buy.

(FYI - The confusion is further compounded by a company called "Olympic Body Building" that release only standard sized plates. Great quality plates - very popular but a touch confusing).
