    Plus unlimited food / meals

  • Every time I click the link it just downloads an image?

  • How you book this? Any deal on quad share with kids?

  • +1

I believe this is the correct link in Scoopon https://www.scoopon.com.au/deals/72182#/

  • Hmmmm…its showing as $2,118 for me?

    • Twin share - as in you need to buy two tickets, for two people, at two times the $1059.

      • Ahhh….I see. Thanks for clarifying.

  • I have never gone on a cruise before and also never been to New Caledonia.

Is there anything else I need to know besides booking and rocking up on the day?

E.g. do I need a Visa or passport etc?

    • +2

      You will need a passport.

      • Thanks.

    • +2

You take out passport only at circular quay. When getting off/on board the ship, you need to bring the card issued by the ship.

No visa needed for New Caledonia.

  • How much does something like this usually cost?

    • +1

I think the Royal Caribbean cruise to Vanuatua/New Caledonia I went on was about $1700.
Edit: It was 13 nights though.

      • +1

I went on this same ship(Voyager of the seas) and on a very similar 10 day trip(Went to Mystery island and Mare, instead).
It was $1996.96 for two people on 5/Mar including taxes, gratuities.

    That's price for 1 person!! (I thought it's for 2)

Watch out buying these deals as you have to buy the coupon then redeem them if it's a good deal the cruise could sell out before you get a chance to redeem has happened before . You can normally get the same if not better from cruise guru or other online booking agents.

    • +1

You can also buy direct from the cruise line itself…

  • It's an OK but not great price for this time of year (ie early season). 21st of November is still quite chilly in Australian waters. Keep in mind the pools are filled with sea water.

I travelled on this ship in late Feb last year 8 nights for $640 twin share internal. That said, gratuities were extra at that time, now, I gather, they are included?

    • gratuities are optional and can be removed by asking at the service desk.

      • +1

That was the old policy …. now they are included in the advertised fare for cruises departing from Australian waters.

As you rightly note, the old policy allowed for gratuities to be removed, but in reality , anyone doing so would be real bastard, as it is this money that the crew relies on for their weekly income. It all actuality it was not discretionary.

As per public pressure, the non-optional gratuities (staff wages) are included in the price, thank god.

        • I don't know how much they get paid however they may be expecting or appreciating it however they would be getting a base salary. It won't be a commission job

        • +1

          @hellohello123:
Base salary is about US$100 or so - and that's a 31 day month I.e no weekends.

So yeah, they are expecting it…

I've just got off two cruises to South Pacific with RCI. 23 nights in 30 days.

Newbie cruisers complained that they thought they'd be getting massages, specialty restaurants and fancy coffees .

RCI gives more included than carnival and P&O .

I do not think this is a good price as I think it will be cheaper later. I know people on the current 13 night SP cruise that paid this price. I'm excited that scoopon is offering RCI cruises now.

This is double occupancy only and you will be assigned your cabin later. If you have kids you want to bring along, either put one adult in each cabin or call scoopon and see if they can help.

The big news is that RCI cruises booked through RCI Australia or an Australian travel agent now include gratuities so you won't have those added to your invoice on board. They were $13.50 per night pp on non suite accomodation.

gratuities are optional and can be removed by asking at the service desk.

      • What are gratuities?

      • No. The policy has changed. Did you read my last paragraph. They are now included in the advertised fare.
