Avatar for iPad 99 cents (or AU $1.19). Usual Price $7.99 US. Tesla Wars and Guns n Glory FREE

160

I think the title says it all. Not expecting many positive votes as this just applies for the people that paid for an overpriced tablet and have to live with overpriced apps. These reasonably priced games are a welcome change. Hope some of you find them useful.

To be clear: This is Avatar the game and not the movie.

Tesla Wars HD is FREE today. Usually $3.99.

  • +1 for the LOLs ;) - Stoopid Apple kids.

  • Does anyone have an Ipad? If you do, what do you use it for?

I use mine to post ridicule at online persons who think it has no use other than to post ridicule at online persons who think it has no use other than to post ridicule at online persons who think it has no use other than… Ad infinitum

Ok, i also use carry it all the time for reference when learning. Very useful.

    • A friend of mine from NZ bought one on holiday here… he mainly used it for playing games… and a bit of web browsing.

To be useful for me I would need to spend half my time remote desktop'd into a PC or terminal server… as I am a slave to Windoze apps.

I've got one. I used it for browsing web and reading mail while watching TV, for reading books and comics and magazines in bed, for taking notes in meetings at work, for managing my exercise calendar, for playing games whenever I'm waiting somewhere (PuzzleQuest and Civ mostly), for listening to music via the bluetooth headphones, for watching videos and shows (3G streaming is enough for youtube; watched all of Synth Britannia on it), for mucking about on some synth apps (iElectribe), as a really good instant messaging client (IM+), for managing my facebook wall, for doing my internet banking (NAB), and for replying to you right now.

I sold my netbook. It was worthless compared to the iPad. I've kept the laptop but I hardly ever use it now. Only when I want to do something intensive like video encoding. For everything else I'm just using the iPad now.

I think any ~87% discount on one product & two freebies warrants a +ve in anyone's book! :)

isnt that 3 mill worldwide, not just in Oz.
And its not a dig, just wondering if people use it

      • Valid point - although, your positive vote for Klone's remark tends to give a slightly different slant on what you were saying.

It was a funny comment. Even the OP was not so over self assured about the Ipad, just wondering if people are finding this product useful.

@Matador_OZ: Well all my comments are from on the road with a ipad - guess thats what's been coloring my comments, where is that "sorry" button… LOL

BTW removed negative from your first post on DSE logitech product by bargaincrypt, as it was outside negative voting guidelines (all on my ipad)

@[Deactivated]: Well stop being so anti-troll, ozpete, Geez!

Haters gonna hate & Apple lovers are going to have sex with apple pie; it's only human.

              • @KLoNe: If you want to troll go to whirlpool. Just post a bargain or two if you haven't got something else to do

                • @[Deactivated]: @matador I believe the iPad or a tablet in general is useful. Especially if you read a lot and for someone like me that can't fall asleep till 3 or 4am. I like to lie down and read. Would I prefer an Android tablet? Sure. There isn't one right now that is any good. Would I buy one when a decent one comes out and sell the iPad? Most Definitely. What I wasnt sure of was the number of people on Oz Bargain who actually own an iPad and would find this deal useful. My doubt wasn't about the iPad itself.

                  • @ragflan: And yeah. The iPad is overpriced and so are the apps. The limitations of the iOS platform are ridiculous. But sadly its the only decent choice now despite the many shortcomings of the device and the platform it runs on.

                    • @ragflan: And to people thinking, 'if you like to read then read a book', then I suggest you wake up and smell the 21st century. Knowledge is knowledge whether you get it from a book or an interactive website. You won't use a typewriter for document processing now would you?

  • Why are US prices more prominent than Australian prices in the Title ?

    • The price of the app is shown in AUD. I thought that would be enough for intelligible life forms. My bad. Sorry dude.

if you want to know what an ipad is good for.. go buy one.. u got 14 days to stick it back to apple's face if you dont like it…

As a teacher, my iPad is a fantastic resource/tool. As a lover of news, games, music, and reading, the iPad is a perfect match. Those who try to picture the iPad as overpriced don't own one, and often feel some reason to troll or liken owners as sheep. What an upsetting world…

    Good deal though :)

and for all who concern about overpriced apps…
    remember : jailbreaks

    • Man. I swear this is the reason why Android development is going nowhere. I can understand when people pirate movies off huge entertainment corporations or software from large enterprises who have huge profit margins. But where's the justice in pirating an app that's developed by some dude who spent a great amount of time developing and supporting it? I'm sorry man. But your comment deserves a huge neg if you're talking about pirating apps through a jailbroken device. Support developers man. They're just everyday people like you and me. If there's an app I cannot afford on a smartphone, I'll wait for a price drop or find an alternative. Pirating apps that are made for smartphones (which are generally developed by small-time developers) is just wrong.
