  • Seems like a good deal. I pay 60$ for the same deal on Telstra so 35 x 24 = 840. If you get cashback as well the deal is even better.

    • That's all well and good, but Telstra costs more regardless. So you'll he going to a lesser service, not such a big deal in cities, but I know I miss the speed since switching to Kogan last week.

      • there's not too much of a drop in coverage Telstra - Woolies, you just miss out on the data speeds.

        • My bad, thought this was with Optus.

So it goes in the list between VIRGIN and VODAFONE for the S8+ and between VODAFONE and OPTUS for the S8:

$88 / $93 - VIRGIN - $80 Phone Plan (11GB data, Spotify/Pandora/Iheart/GooglePlay Music stream free, this is with 10% off for velocity members)
    $90 / $101 - VODAFONE - $80 MyMix Plan (12GB)
    $94 / $105 - OPTUS - $85 My Plan Plus (10GB but netflix/Stan/Fetch/iview/Sport along with Spotify/Pandora/Iheart/GooglePlay Music all stream data free)

    Forgot to add:

    $95 / $105 - TELSTRA - $95 My Business Mobile Lease Plan (12GB)

I know some are better for others, but this is just to show that the deal isn't anywhere near as earth shattering as the $65 one.

    • $101 cashback and Samsung Gear VR add more value to this offer than the others.

      • +1

Everyone gets the VR if they preorder.

I think Telstra qualifies for $125 cash rewards.

      • The Gear VR is for all pre orders with all carriers and stores before April 27th.

Virgin saves $96 over 24 months, so the actual value is:
Woolworths gives you $5 ——- Virgin lets you stream music without data loss

        • Is the new Gear VR compatible with my old S6?

I don't feel like taking my new phone out of its case every time I want to play VR.

  • $-15 p/m promo is still valid today. Hence,

$77 per month for S8 with 12GB Data. 24 month contract

    • +3

Unfortunately not. The $15/month promo only applies to the 4GB plans.

    • I only see the -$15p/m for the M plans?

      • My bad. Dang it :*(

Would have been a snag for you guys out there. (I'm married to optus for life due to my free 2nd 3rd data lines)

I don't know how people can pre-order a phone that hasn't been reviewed or even held. From what I see the battery won't be good for that screen.

    • +15

I don't how people can line up for days to purchase a phone they have never seen or held before.

    • It's been reviewed by people who had hands on time with it.

There's no review score, but what these people say isn't going to change.

Maybe it's that glorious feeling of having a shiny new device in one's hands. Or maybe it's the satisfaction one gets from owning and using the best and greatest device from their favorite OEM. Or it could be that some people are nearing the end of their contracts and are due for a new device. It could also be that some people have the money to spare/burn. We'll never know.
People are free to choose whatever device appeals to them. Some people trust an OEM to release a great device and would take the plunge without hesitation. Some others prefer to wait for reviews in order to make an informed decision about what device is best for them.

    • Exactly why pre-orders are meant for early adopters, not laggards.

  • Very expensive. I don't think it has the $15 off promo that the $65 plan has (normally $80 pm).

You're paying $27 extra a month for an extra 4GB. That's $2208 total. Better to buy the phone outright and join a discounted Kogan 10GB deal or some ALDI deal.

  • I hope these phones from woolies mobile are unlocked.
