I use usenetbucket and usenet.farm.
Usenet.farm is a reasonably new provider and they've had some teething issues but are getting progressively better. I'll probably drop usenetbucket in favor of usenet.farm in the near future.
Usenet farm is a very good service as they use their own retention for ~30 days then fallback to XSNews and Tweaknews. Their block accounts are great for completeness because they use multiple providers but are also well priced as a main provider.
If your looking for the best price, I'd probably look at frugalusenet for a "main/unlimited" account and usenet.farm block account to fill the gaps.
Just a couple of days ago I successfully downloaded a ~2300 day old file that some mates were having problems with on other providers. (http://i.imgur.com/DODsWz6.png)
i think i looked at using Usenetbucket but they do not offer block accounts.
i actually do not use it enough so it would be a waste of money even if i signed up for the basic plan they offer.
currently i just use the block amount of data for tweaknews and usenet.farm as my main accounts.
the retention they offer is very nice!!

Depending on the content your retrieving depends on what you should do. If you don't use enough data to consider an unlimited account stick with the block accounts. If you have 900GB on usenet.farm I wouldn't pick this deal up, they do promos often enough.
Frugalusenet are a highwinds reseller, great for any content less than 24hrs old but most popular things after a day or so will be incomplete.

looking back through the deals for usenet.farm the best they have done is 30% off for block accounts so this deal is not so bad!!

i still have 900gb left from a previous sale during the xmas 2015 sale haha(i buy in blocks coz i dont use it frequently)
this deal is still pretty good so maybe i should get some just in case hehe
do you use tweak news? they are pretty good but very expensive :/
