    • Me too. I got the deal, for about $770. That maybe why. Damn, it is a nice machine.

    • Got that same email just a second ago :(

Dammit I was stoked when I discovered I could get into the X series tablet order form with the direct link, but I guess it wasn't to be!

      • I ordered mine when it was still listed as available, yet my order still got cancelled. bah.

    • I have lodged a complaint to consumer affairs as this is the second time they have pulled this trick, watch the config come back online in a few weeks! NSW fair trading are not big fans of this!

  • me too! wtf? you can't just cancel my order, what's the point!? any one got suggestions?

  • I got the same email.

  • oh well, that was a waste of an afternoon to configure and buy it only to have it cancelled on me… :( boo. poor form.

  • I was the original poster and my order just got cancelled. I must have been one of the first to buy. What a load of crap

    • +1

this might be related to you ordering with the $220 discount =(

      • nah i bought it without the discount and still got canned. they should really fix the situation, I know it's a clearance, but you don't make a contract when you don't have the goods…

  • This is unacceptable and I will be pursing Lenovo to provide an equivilant product and the price they entered into the contract with me.

  • i just got the email about cancellation.

i feel very angry about that, how could lenovo just cancel the contract without my permission?

i need to report to the fair trading

  • I think you guys will have as much luck as I did when Dell did the same thing to me, its not a contract until the funds are transferred to their account (credit cards dont count either) and they reply saying that the deal is done, thats how these places get outta mistakes and not having enough stock these days they just say that unless they reply back saying they have accepted your order, its not an order.

I hope you get it, becuase they should cough up the laptops, but be prepared for disapointment.

    • I got two e-mail from Lenovo, 1st was the "thanks for placing your order with Lenovo", the 2nd was "Thank you for your purchase from Lenovo. Your order has been received and is processed" - to me we have offer and acceptance at this point….

      • Give it up. It's an honest mistake. You won't get anywhere by challenging Lenovo's decision - the consumer protection bodies recognise businesses will sometimes have genuine glitches in their IT systems, so won't do anything about it, and only an idiot will engage lawyers for small consumer purchase.

    • You should have complained to the NSW Consumer Affairs,

      http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/icms-public/complaint/regi…

they have the following view: "Our interpretation of the Sale of Goods Act is that the consumers who have had their credit card debited have entered into a contract with Dell," a spokesman said. "The transacting of the money constitutes a contract for sale."

      http://www.smh.com.au/news/breaking/dell-error-a-hard-bargai…

As lenovo are based in NSW :

(Lenovo (Australia & New Zealand) Pty Ltd
      PO Box 498
      St Leonards, NSW 1590

you are entitled to lodge a complaint there for a web transaction, I have, this is the second such failure to meet contract obligations in three months and I feel its deceptive and misleading, the email received stinks of bait and switch.

The fact they send you confirmation of your contract makes the acceptance of money moot, and reinforces the contract being in place: " Confirmation for order# 4245xxxxx Thank you for your purchase from Lenovo. Your order has been received and is processed. "

  • it might be related to the bug
i bought mine not long after the post and i haven't received any email yet about cancellation.

  • Got the email too. And I ordered without the bug problem.
Poor form from Lenovo. They probably have 5 on orders and should have stopped the order earlier.
I wasted a few hours trying to place an order. Sigh…

  • I went through a previous purchase of a laptop and I had been sent a cancellation notice but in the end I received the item. Could just be a glitch in the system

  • Lenovo are pretty good they made a huge error once before I think it was to do with HDD and they honored it for thousands of people so you might still get them

    • but if it's a clearance, they're not making any more… so if they run out, they would have actually run out, wouldn't they..

      • Its been on clearance for 8 weeks, and its still for sale in other countries.

  • Just checked my order status.
It now has an estinated ship date of 25/8/10.
I could well be getting it after all. I suggest you all check your order status.

    • So do I - so to tally it up I've in order,
      - email confirming receipt of order
      - email confirming saying order has been procesed
      - telephone call saying they wanted to cancel the order but a supervisior would call back
      - email saying due to "overwhelming response….."
      - email cancellation notice
      - Order Details updated to say the ship date is 25/08/2010

      • My ship date is the 30th.Hmm..

    • Nope - Mine status has now gone to "Others" :(

  • Mine has gone to others as well, I would recommend you put in a complaint to Fair Trading NSW (regardless of where you live they will handle it as the transaction is done in NSW), using this link:

    http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/icms-public/complaint/regi…

If you dont feel like writing a book please feel free to copy mine, after all the complaint and actions have been the same for all of us:

Your Complaint has been received by the Office of Fair Trading on 21/08/2010 - File Number 5405104. Please use this File Number when dealing with Fair Trading regarding this complaint.

Business/Trader identified: Lenovo (Australia & New Zealand) Pty Ltd

Details of Complaint: Lenovo offered for sale which apparently was sold out before being offered, they took my money then cancelled the order with the offer for me to buy something else, I consider this to be a breach of contract in terms of the "Sale of Goods Act" and also a case of bait and switch, I note the previous cases like this have been actioned by NSW fair trading: http://www.smh.com.au/news/breaking/dell-error-a-hard-bargai…

In terms of what I would like to see happen, I put simple "get what was advertised as per my order"

    • +1

I just sent one in. Not really expecting much, but at least hopefully it would wake them up a bit!

  • My status has now gone to others also. Really pissed now.
How many did they have at this low price none?

    • I'm pretty sure they just cancelled everyone's order, regardless of how many they had. Which is rather dodgy, you'd think their system would have had some kind of inventory tracking linked to it.

      • I ordered a tablet around 2 hours after it was posted, this was after they had fixed the CPU pricing bug. 2 hours later I received a call from a Lenovo consultant confirming my credit card and postage details. Did anyone get this call?

Anyway, as of now, I haven't received a cancelation yet. 30/08/2010 is the shipping date. Order status: "submitted". Fingers crossed

        • I ordered mine about 2 hours after as well, after the pricing was fixed. I also received the call confirming my card and delivery details. My shipping date later appeared on the website as 30/08, but now it's Others.

  • hi guys,

    mine seems okay

    • I got my email too saying it has been RTM, I ordered the 1.4GHz one with 8 cell battery.

      • damn you!
I wish a future of trojans and spyware upon you. :)

  • Did you order the SL9600 processor (2.13ghz) or the slower one?

    • i ordered the SL9400 i.e. slower one because I wasn't aware of the bug when i placed the order.

  • Anyone have any success in purchasing again after their order was cancelled?

    • How do you purchase again when it's not even listed on the website??

  • The price has dropped to $899.

BUT… I think it is not a touch penal. Anyone know?

    • nah it isn't. It's not a tablet.

      Good price though.

      • Indeed good price… but would be better if tablet :(:(:(

  • Well I have to give credit to Lenovo, they touched base today and offered me the deal without the mistake - which is fair enough!

    • I've been hassling them for the past 2 days and can't get anywhere.
Do you mind telling me who you spoke to?
BTW did they offer you the tablet with the SL9600 processor? So they basically added the cost of that processor to your order?

      • Original Processor at original price ! Not the SL9600.

    • I've e-mailed them but not yet heard back - what did they offer?

  • Looks like mine is sorted as well… :)

  • Apparently all sold out now.

Bargain of the year, IMHO. Well done to those who managed to purchase one.

  • Isn't the SU9400 1.4ghz processor slow?

  • Ordered a 1.40GHz X200 Tablet on the 20th. The Tablet wasn't available on the Lenovo site so used the link on here to view the ordering page. Also appears that the 7% off was registered in moneybackco!.

No other processor was available, hoping the 1.4 is sufficient for playing hi def on the Bravia. Sucks it doesn't have HDMI but hey can't win them all…

I wasn't expecting it to go through, though looks like it's being processed. Received the email stating it's been shipped (with a tracking code) yesterday.

Cheers to the original poster! Looking forward to a new toy ;)

    • let me know how you go playing HD movies on it.

I missed out on this deal, but was interested in doing something similar…!

  • Is it usually T+4 delivery for capital cities from the invoiced shipped on date?

  • If your after the form factor i.e 12inch pocket rocket, go for the X200 for $899 with free delivery. These usually sell for alot more. They are core 2 duo's but should be quick still.

  • I just ordered an x200 (non tablet). Although the CPU isn't ultra low voltage (and has 3MB L2 rather than 6 on the ULV) it should be nice and responsive.

    • Bluetooth and + Webcam.

Tablet would have been nice but given it is out of stock I'll take satisfaction in the fact that the non-tablet it a little lighter.

  • Hi,

I'm just wondering has anyone receive their tablet yet? Apparently they told me there is a slight delay due to the supply shortage for the WWAN card.

  • I purchased an X200 on the 27th August, was delivered Tuesday 31st August.

It was the beef up version P8700, 4GB ram, 9cell battery, bluetooth, Intel Wifi 5100, Vista Home 32bit, 3 years warranty for $1099. The part number is 7458-EA2, what I'm trying to find out is if there is an internal antenna for WWAN. I have already ordered the WWAN card from UK and put in an Intel x25-m SSD. From memory I think all X200s have the ultra connect antenna by default. My one seems to have the icon on the screen chassis.

I see the sim card slot under the battery, I am assuming the antennas should be there, anyone know if this is standard on all X200.

  • I opened up the X200, there was no red and blue wire.

I found a post where you can use the WLAN Aux wire and MIMO wire for the WWAN card. I'm going to try that when it comes in. Should be able to get it to work, its only a wire going to an antenna. What this means is the WLAN wouldn't be as strong in receiving signals with dual antennas. I can live with that, I don't use wireless much.

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo-ibm/367296-lenovo-x20…

    • Hrm, the WLAN antenna wouldn't be tuned for the right frequency, pushing up the SWR, reducing efficiency, working your wwan card harder. Not ideal, but hopefully it'll just work fine though.

  • playing on mine x200 tablet now, very happy =)

    • Hmm… mine's coming tmr.

  • Could you tell me if it is the SU9400 processor? HDD or SSD?
Is it slow? Bootup slow? Quality good?

    • Hi Economic ,
my CPU is SL9400 1.84G, with 500G HDD.

it runs very smooth and I am happy with the performance so far. I was on a 1.6G Atom before so I am happy with a duo core.lol.

quality is okay, the tablet mode is okay, i don't really like the way the screen stays. other than that, it's all good. =)

      • I wished I ordered a Tablet =(.

I thought when I first saw it, it was the SL9400, not the SU9400 like how some people were quoting.

Well done man, I think this is as cheap as it gets for an X series tablet. Do you know if it has a WWAN antenna, did it say WWAN upgradable on the invoice?

        Slam

        • Hi Slam,

sorry not sure what is a wwan antenna, where do i check for?

  • The X200 (non Tablet) has dropped $50 it is now $849 so I will be claiming price protection on the $899 unit that is being shipped to me.

  • The X200 (non tablet) has now dropped to $799.

  • Yes Economic I just noticed…. Unfortunately Lenovo do not offer price protection in Australia like they do in the USA so I don't think I will be getting a price protection rebate :(

  • I received my X200T a few days ago. I paid just over $1K fo the SU9400. I ws a little concerned about the performance but find it is more than adequate for my needs. The screen is stunning and more than makes up for any lack in performance.

My unit didn't come with WWAN, fingerprint reader and only 2gig of ram. I peviously owned an x200 and transferred the WWAN card and ram into my tablet.

For those who never bought the WWAN card it is recommended. The wires are already to go. Just hook them up, install the drivers and your set.

I didn't try to move my fingerprint reader from the x200 to x200T because it is located on the monitor. I don't want to stuff things up.

All in all it was a BARGAIN. I think i'll be a tablet fan forever :)

    • im glad you like yours, thanks for sharing this. I'm going to google the wwan thing later.

    • i'm very happy with my tablet as well. I realised my unit didn't come with the simple tap software. do you know where can i download them?

  • Will this be upgradable to win 10 now?
